mySAEBRS Screener
We're introducing a new screening tool for middle school students to support their social and emotional development. In addition to the FastBridge SAEBRS screener used by teachers, we will now also use mySAEBRS. This tool was designed as a universal screening tool to be used in conjunction with other data and allow for students to have a voice. It consists of 20 total questions and will be taken during XLT time once a trimester. Additional information can be found at https://www.illuminateed.com/. If you have any questions or prefer that your child not participate, please contact Kristin Schmidt, Director of Social Emotional Learning, at klschmidt@d47.org by Friday, September 13, 2024. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate in this program.
PBIS Donations Needed
Our students are busy collecting ROARS for being responsible, respectful, and safe! One of the most popular ways to redeem their ROARS is using them to purchase items at our ROAR Store. We are reaching out to ask for your help stocking our store. You can send donations with your student or drop them off at the front office Monday-Friday between 7:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Items needed include:
Bulk candy or candy bars (fun size preferred)
Gum (either bulk Hubba Bubba or small packs)
Chips (individual serving bags)
Takis (individual serving bags)
Gatorade (smaller bottle sizes preferred)
Gift Cards to Five Below, Starbucks, Target, etc. ($5 or $10 amounts)

Erin's Law
In accordance with a state mandate regarding Erin’s Law (Public Act 96-1524), Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 will be teaching the Be Seen and Heard©2.0 curriculum, a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse awareness program for students in grades Pre-K-8. Be Seen and Heard©2.0 is an age-appropriate, engaging curriculum created by professional speaker, Victor Pacini, that focuses on the difference between safe and unsafe touch and the importance of having trusted heroes, someone the child trusts and can turn to for help.
To learn more about Erin’s Law or the Be Seen and Heard©2.0 curriculum, visit www.erinslaw.org or www.victorpacini.com. Victor has created informational videos for families regarding his Be Seen and Heard©2.0 curriculum. To view, click the links below:
It is important to emphasize that, due to the sensitive nature of this topic, the information associated with this program is presented thoughtfully and varies depending upon a student’s grade level. Lundahl Middle School will present this program on September 19th, 2024. If you prefer your child not participate in this personal safety instruction, please submit your objection in writing to your child’s principal, Mrs. Angie Compere by Monday, September 16th, 2024.
If your child is not in attendance on the day and time of the presentation and we have not received an opt out notice from you, your child will be scheduled for a make-up presentation with a school clinician sometime within a few weeks of the above presentation date.
For any questions about the content of the program or Erin’s Law, please contact Dr. Carolyn Stadlman in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at (815) 788-5036.
