Tip of the Week
One handy feature of Google Classroom is the "To Do" list. Watch the video to see how students (and parents) can easily see what needs to be done and when it is due.
Letter from Mrs. Willhoite
Dear Oakdale Families,
Rocket Run:
Thank you to our AMAZING O-S-F for an outstanding Rocket Run! Thank you for your hard work in making our school an awesome place. :)
Chromebook charging:
This is a reminder to set an alarm to make sure you child is charging his/her chromebook each night. Teachers are seeing an increase of dead batteries which hinders a student's ability to access necessary items.
Conferences:
We will have TWO nights: Tuesday, Oct. 15th from 4:00-7:30pm and Thursday, Oct. 24th from 4:00-7:30pm. We do group conferences in middle school, so you will meet with all of your available core teachers during the conference. We do encourage you to conference if you feel the need - those parents with whom teachers needed to conference have already been given the opportunity to sign up. If there is not a time that works for you, please communicate with your teachers through email.

Hello!
I hope that you guys are doing well. I wanted to let you know about an event we are hosting for current 8th graders/rising 9th Graders. It is our UD Open House event. We would love to host as many of your current 8th-grade families that are interested.
If you wouldn't mind passing this along to your families via email, that would be great.

We had a wonderful Sequoyah Book Kick-off today! Students rotated to different teachers' classrooms and learned about several books on the 2024 Sequoyah List. Our teachers worked so hard reading a Sequoyah Book, decorating their rooms, dressing up, and creating interactive and fun presentations. Our students were extremely well behaved and were great listeners. Shout out to the OSF for funding the grant to make this event possible. The Sequoyah Contest will begin in full swing after Fall Break!
