MHHS NEWS
Updated Cell Policy Begins Monday
As a reminder, starting Monday, all HCPSS students will not be permitted to use cell phones and other personal technology devices during the student day. This week administrators hosted class assemblies to review the policy and teachers are taking time to review the changes.
We recognize that the shift in our cell phone policy—from allowing access during the school day to no access—will be a significant adjustment for our students. However, this change is aimed at fostering a more focused and engaging learning environment. We need your support in reinforcing this expectation at home by discussing the importance of minimizing distractions and being present in the classroom. Your partnership is invaluable in helping our students navigate this transition successfully.
All HCPSS schools will adhere strictly to the policy with hopes that this change and implementation will create a healthier and more productive learning and social environments during the school day.
HCPSS has provided a helpful Q&A on their website.
Thank you for partnering with us.
Ramadan
As Ramadan approaches, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to our Muslim students, staff, and families observing this special month. Ramadan is a time for reflection, spiritual growth, and fostering community, and we recognize its importance to many within our school.
To support those participating, we will have a designated quiet space available during lunch shifts for students who prefer a peaceful area for reflection, prayer, or a quiet break.
For anyone interested in learning more about Ramadan and its traditions, we invite you to explore this informational infographic!

World of Work Interviewers Needed
The Mt. Hebron Student Services Office is recruiting people to come to Mt. Hebron High School and interview our 11th grade students on Thursday, April 3rd, from 7:40 AM – 12:45 PM.
This is a graduation requirement for all our 11th grade students in which they get practice interviewing prior to a real-life job or college interview. We are looking for people across a wide variety of careers and backgrounds to come in and conduct these interviews. While you are here you can expect to do between 10 and 15 interviews. The interviews usually last about 10-12 minutes and you will be given a list of questions to ask. The students will share their resume, tell you about their interests and goals, and then they will have an opportunity to ask you questions about your education and career.
Please check your calendar and see if you would be available to come to Mt. Hebron and interview. This is a great learning experience for students and will be very rewarding for you as well.
Coffee and light refreshments will be served in the morning starting at 7:40 AM and lunch will be served at 12:45 PM. Please contact Marianne Pizzo in the Student Services Office at mpizzo@hcpss.org or 410-313-2883 if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time and support of the Junior Interviews at Mt. Hebron High School.
Interviewer registration link to volunteer is here.
Attention Juniors and Seniors - Free Measuring for Prom Tuxedo/Suit Rental
M. Stein Tuxedos will be at Mt. Hebron during all lunch periods on Wednesday March 19th and Thursday March 20th to measure students who may be interested in renting a tux or suit for prom. This is a great fundraiser for After Prom as 20% of all rentals through M. Stein are donated towards making the night fun for the students. Every student that gets measured at Mt. Hebron is also entered in a raffle for a $50 Amazon Gift Card! All junior and senior students who want to wear a suit/tux should get measured, even if they are unsure if they will attend prom as there is no cost associated with measuring, and measurements will be kept on file for if/when they choose to order their tuxedo. No commitment is required and no payment needed at the time of measurement.
Browse M. Stein's many online catalogs and only pay when you order the tuxedo you want. Students will pick up and return their tuxedos to Mt. Hebron so this could not be easier or more convenient! Please contact mthtuxedo@gmail.com for any questions about the upcoming measuring dates. These are the only 2 dates that measuring at the school will be offered so mark your calendars!

Are you familiar with the work of Casey Cares'?
They are a local non-profit out of Columbia, MD. They serve MD, DE, NJ, OH & FL. They fundraise to help the families of critically ill children. They send them to experiences like Disney on Ice, concerts, and events. Casey Cares is committed to helping provide families with comfort when their children are hospital or bed-bound.
I have been volunteering with Casey Cares for 15 years and can confidently say that there is no mismanagement of money, they run on a skeleton staff and provide so many great opportunities for critically ill kids & their families.
Casey Cares makes care baskets to drop off at the hospital. They always include comfy pj's so kids don't have to wear hospital gowns.
How can you help? We will be collecting NEW TEEN-SIZED PJ's from March 1st - April 4th. If you want to donate a pair, just put them in the collection box next to the giant Viking wearing PJ's in the main lobby. OR, drop them off in room 121, Mrs. Johannes' room. They always get baby and toddler-sized pj's and their biggest need is teen-sized, so basically, smaller adult pj's.
Questions? Contact Jen Johannes. Together we can make a difference for critically ill kids!
