Weekly Newsletter
Dear Morris Families,
We’re off to a fantastic start, and it’s been a joy to see the energy and enthusiasm our students have brought back to school.
One highlight of our first week was the completion of the PBIS Passports. Students reviewed our school-wide ROAR expectations, earning stamps to demonstrate their understanding of these important guidelines:
- Rise to the challenge
- Own your actions
- Always work together
- Respect yourself and others
On Friday, we wrapped up the week with an all-school assembly to reinforce these expectations. We were joined by our bus drivers for a discussion on bus behavior and safety, and students reviewed expectations for assemblies. Mrs. Soules and I were incredibly proud of our students' respectful and attentive behavior during the assembly. Superintendent Collins and Assistant Superintendent Falkowski also praised the student body for their exemplary conduct.
A special moment during the assembly was when students from each grade shared their New Year’s resolutions. From our youngest learners’ goals, like learning to read and write, riding bikes without training wheels, and improving behavior at home, to our older students’ thoughtful resolutions, such as being kinder, reducing screen time, and volunteering in the community, we were inspired by their commitment to growth and kindness.
Winter Band & Chorus Concert
This week, we’re excited to host our Winter Band and Chorus Concert on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Band students should arrive between 6:00 and 6:15 p.m., while chorus students will remain with their families until their performance time. This event is always a wonderful showcase of our students’ musical talents, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Recess Reminder
As we embrace the winter season, please remember that students go outside for recess twice a day, even in cold weather. We ask families to ensure children come to school dressed warmly—this includes coats, hats, gloves, and boots. Staying indoors is only an option when the temperature or wind chill is below 15°F. Thank you for helping your child stay comfortable and enjoy outdoor playtime.
Health & Wellness Reminder
With cold, flu, and stomach bug season upon us, please keep your child home if they’re feeling under the weather. Students should remain at home for at least 24 hours after vomiting or having diarrhea. By taking these precautions, we can help keep our school community healthy.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Morris Elementary. Here’s to another great week of learning, growth, and community!

Greetings Morris Families,
Welcome back! We hope the break provided families with some rest and relaxation.
We also wanted to pass along this valuable resource to our Morris community. Southern Berkshire Rural Health Network was kind enough to share their food access resources list with us and we thought it might be a helpful resource to share with you and your networks.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
