It's Time for After-School Activities!
After School Activities will begin on September 24th. EMS hosts after school activities three days each week - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - and bus transportation is provided. Students will receive information next week about which clubs are available and how to sign up!
MCPS Student Expectation Lessons
Please see the community letter for information about the MCPS Student Expectation Lessons.
The lesson has two parts, and both are required learning experiences.
- Part one is the updated edition of the annual “Culture of Respect.” We must take an active role to ensure students are informed and able to recognize signs of bullying/cyberbullying, harassment (including sexual harassment), hate-bias incidents, hazing, intimidation, student gender norms, and how to use the Speak Up Protocol.
- Part two ensures that students are aware of key information in the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Student Rights and Responsibilities and MCPS Code of Conduct documents. This training educates students on their expectations for creating a learning environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and knows the various ways to report alleged/concerning incidents.
Eastern Middle School students will be able to access these important lessons through their social studies classes this week! In order to be prepared for this learning, students should come to school prepared with their MCPS assigned Chromebook fully charged. If your student is absent this week, your student can access these lessons through their Canvas page. Students who complete both lessons will earn 3 SSL hours for their participation.
Support FUN Electives DURING the Day!
