Good Evening Everyone!
Playoffs
This week I am thrilled to share with our WEST community that our Girls Soccer team has won the PIAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! The team defeated a tough Conestoga team in overtime by a score of 3-2. Congratulations to all the girls on the team, their families, and the coaches on an incredible season that culminated in them being named State Champions! Thank you to all the students, staff, and community members who came out for the send off on Saturday morning, and to everyone who made the trek to Mechanicsburg to cheer the girls on to victory - West was well-represented! Congratulations and Well Done!!
WEST Football defeated CB West on Friday night by a score of 28-23 the District Semifinals. With that win they will now face North Penn in the District Championship Game at home this Friday night at 7pm in Kottmeyer Stadium! Clear your schedules for Friday night and lets plan to pack the stadium one last time this season as we cheer the team on to a District Championship here at home! Go WEST!

COLLEGE and BEYOND
Parents - Please take a moment to review the Build Your Future: Be Your Own Architect information below in the Upcoming Events section. Each year this program alternates between East and WEST and this year it is being hosted at DHS East. The evening will provide a number of opportunities to here from college admissions counselors and financial aid advisers. If you have a Sophomore or Junior this year, make sure you register today!
Indian Heritage Day
Thank you to our SASA students and their parents for organizing our annual Indian Heritage Day which will be held in the Library on Monday, November 18th. Each year we look forward to this wonderful opportunity for our freshmen to learn more about the Indian culture and heritage and we are so appreciative of those in our Indian community who help to pull this together for our students. Thank you!

The 18th annual Powderpuff Football game is Thursday, November 21st @ 7pm at Kottmeyer Stadium. Tickets are 5.00 at the door, and the proceeds will be donated to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Cure4Cam Hero Fund. Please come out to support a great cause!
Military Recognition Wall: As the Military Recognition Wall is completed this year, please know that we view this as a work in progress. If there are any names that we have missed, please email Sherry Tuerk (stuerk@dasd.org) and we will get names updated with the Class of 2025 at the end of the year. Thank you!
- Attention Class of 2026: Graduation Project Proposal and Mentor forms are now past due! Please drop them off in the main office as soon as possible once both of these forms have been filled out. Mr. Hassel will sign for approval, scan and email them back to you. All details and forms can be found on West’s Website under the activities tab or HERE. Parent Teacher Conferences - Tuesday, November 26th
The online registration for Parent Teacher Conferences is now active. While we are looking forward to hosting conferences in person, we also know that some parents may prefer to schedule their conference via zoom. If you would like to participate via zoom, please use the following format when registering for an appointment: Student Name: “John Smith – Zoom”. The teacher will then email you a link for the Zoom conference. Conferences with your student’s teachers will be held by appointment only. It's a great time to meet privately with your child's teacher, ask specific questions regarding your child's progress, and discuss curriculum. The letter which provides the scheduler link and explains the process for reserving a time to meet with your child's teacher can be viewed by clicking the above link. You will also find the teachers' room assignments during the conferences linked here.
TCHS Brandywine Open House - December 5th - 6:00 - 8:00 pm
TCHS Brandywine will be holding an open house on Thursday, December 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
All 2025-26 TCHS applicants who are offered acceptances will be required to respond to their offer by the listed deadline that corresponds with their application date. If a student does not officially respond to their offer by the deadline, their seat will be offered to another student, and they will be put on the waitlist with the potential of being offered the seat again at a future date. The TCHS application will close during the 2025-26 summer months and will reopen on August 1st, 2025 for students wishing to be considered for 2025-26 Fall Rolling Admissions.

Registration is now open for SAT Prep Classes for 2024-2025!
Class of 2026, SAT Prep Class
Downingtown West High School will be offering courses to assist students with preparation for the upcoming SAT. College-bound juniors typically take the SAT in the spring of their junior year and repeat the exam in the fall of their senior year if necessary.
Test Information: SAT test dates for this spring are March 8 and May 3 at the Downingtown West Campus. Students should register for the SAT online at www.collegeboard.org and should use school code 391-033 to indicate they attend Downingtown West High School. The West Campus test center code is 39228.
SAT Prep Class Information: All classes will be offered in person or on zoom for six weeks with dates and times listed below. The registration fee is $60.00 per course and $120 for two courses. Please reach out to Mrs. Kennedy (mkennedy@dasd.org) with any questions. An online SAT practice book is included in the price of the course. It is not possible to attend both a Math and a Verbal class during the same time slot on a single day; choose one Math class and one Verbal class per time slot.
Please use the following SAT Prep Registration Form to sign up for SAT Prep Classes. You will be notified via email when your registration fee is available to pay on payschoolscentral.com. All Registration fees must be paid on payschoolscentral.com before the first class session to receive the required textbook.
Class size is limited, so EARLY registration is recommended. Please submit the registration form by December 18, 2024.

Parent Reminders
The Student Contact Information Confirmation for the 24/25 school year is now past due. Please take the time to complete this information if you haven't already. This is a yearly requirement and without it, our Nurses are unable to administer any over-the-counter medications like Tylenol and ibuprofen. This information can be completed by logging onto Infinite Campus with your parent account.
Any student that requires emergency medication, daily medications or as needed medications to be given during school hours MUST provide a signed DASD Authorization for Medication Administration order from their healthcare provider and a parent/guardian. The medication must be stored in the Health office. Please reach out to dwnurse@dasd.org if you have any questions.
- Attention Parents: 2024-2025 Device Fees are now posted in PaySchools! Please review & submit your student’s device payment on PaySchools* Central.

The application is now open for the St. Jude Leadership Society volunteers. The St. Jude Leadership Society is a group of high-achieving students passionate about leadership, service, and community. Members will participate in monthly leadership development sessions starting in January, inspired by St. Jude founder Danny Thomas. These sessions will cover traits like good citizenship, gratitude, grit, integrity, empathy, and courage. This program also offers a chance to support the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children. Downingtown Rugby Football Club-Girls State Champions
On Sunday November 3 the High School Girls team from Downingtown Rugby Football Club defeated the West Pittsburgh Girls Rugby team to win their first State Championship since 2019. The Girls team led the league the entire Fall 7s season finishing with 26 wins and 3 losses including the state finals tournament. The rugby club team draws from all three Downingtown High Schools with multiple players coming from DWHS. The team will look to continue their success into the Spring 15s season beginning in February 2025. Congratulations girls!
