FUNd Run
Our one and only fundraiser is coming up Sept. 19 during students' specials. The students will receive a sponsor/donation envelope on Sept. 6 and begin collecting sponsors to donate per lap that the students run. Our goal is to raise at least $40,000 towards new playground equipment. With 580 students in our school that would be $70.00 per student to raise. We have multiple prizes for top earners and runners. It is a fun day to watch your students be challenged and excercise, while raising money for our school. Envelopes with money included will be due Oct. 4.

Counselor's Corner
Hello Webster families!
I am thrilled to announce the birth of my baby boy!
His name is Oakley Robert Ciarletta and he was born on July 8th weighing 7lb 14oz.
I will be on maternity leave during the first semester of this school year. Your children are in great hands with my substitute, Mrs. Kim Davis. Mrs. Davis is a retired school counselor and is well known and supported in the district.
Here are some back to school tips as we enter the 2024-2025 school year:
Keep the summer fun going. Plan at least one activity for the first week of school.
Keep the schedule clear. Try not to make any extra plans or appointments for the first two weeks of school so kids can relax after school.
Stress the importance of breakfast. Eating before school will give kids the energy to start their day.
Talk about school. Start to get them back into the school mindset.
Reintroduce a sleep routine. Helping your child return to their normal sleep routine in the weeks before school resumes will be essential in their ability to settle back into school life and build that stamina back up. A strict sleep routine will be important, especially for letter children. They will be facing a longer day and more formal teaching style which is very tiring. The recommended amount of sleep for elementary-aged children is 10-12 hours per night.
Reconnect with school friends. If summer was spent away from them, plan a playdate before school starts to help reintroduce those connections and get them excited about seeing those friends again.
Hello Webster Families!
My name is Kim Davis and I have the pleasure of being the Counselor while Mrs. Ciarletta is on maternity leave. I am a retired school counselor from Widefield School District 3 and I am a graduate of School District 3. I come from a line of educators who worked in this district. I actually am a former Webster Wildcat way back when the school was originally built. In fact, I remember coming to Bingo Night and playing Bingo with the original Bingo game that is still in the basement here! I have lots of hobbies to include; travel, gardening, pickleball and spending time with my family. I plan to provide classroom, small group and individual counseling support to the students here at Webster. I am so glad to be here! I do hope the occasion arises that we get to meet while I’m here subbing.
ESEA Parent Right To Know
The Every Student Succeeds Act reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and is organized around these five core elements: A comprehensive needs assessment; Meaningful, ongoing consultation with parents, teachers and other community members; The identification of students in needs of additional support; Delivery and progress monitoring of evidenced-based student supports; and Evaluation of programs and activities funded by ESSA. ESSA provides an opportunity to improve achievement outcomes for all students by providing effective programs supported with Title I, II, III, and IV funding. In order to receive federal funding districts are required to apply for those funds and to report expenditures for accountability.
