The January newsletter is dedicated to 3rd through 12th grade test prep. Below, you will find links to resources for the IAR and ACT suite of assessments.

In order for students to represent their securely held knowledge, they must be familiar with the tools and test format. To ensure these skills are mastered, staff must provide EXPLICIT guidance for the Pearson and TestNav platform. Each educator should continue to check the Pearson website (linked below) for updates.

IAR is an online assessment that includes extended response and essay questions. It is important that students are proficient at computer keyboarding.

Allowable Calculators

• Grades 3‐5: No calculators, except for students with an approved calculator accommodation

• Grades 6‐7: Four‐function with square root and percentage functions

• Grade 8: Scientific calculators

Teaching standards is the best way to prepare students for spring assessments. Pearson provides information about the standards being assessed and how your school has performed in relation to those standards. The interpretation guide below is an overview of the standards being assessed and provides information about how to interpret your district data.
