The Speech-Language Pathology team will be offering free hearing screenings for 11th-grade students at Hood River Valley High School the week of April 22nd. Hearing screening takes only a few minutes to complete. Students who fail the initial screening will be re-screened approximately two weeks after the initial screening. Upcoming Lockdown Drill April 16th
You will see Law Enforcement on site during the drill (9:00 AM-9:40 AM on 4/16/24) HRVHS has emergency drills each month, including two lockdown drills over the course of the school year. Other emergency drills include earthquake and fire drills. Emergency drills allow us to practice the response to specific emergency conditions. Our teachers take time at the beginning of the year and again prior to a drill to teach students the drill procedures. During a lockdown drill students move away from sight, maintain silence, and do not open the door. Adults recover students from the hallway, lock the classroom door, turn out the lights, move away from sight, maintain silence, do not open the door. Students are always released from a lockdown by law enforcement. An officer will unlock the door and release students from the lockdown. If you would like to learn more about our Standard Response Protocol, you can find out more information at this site.
