From Mr. Harris
Dear Parents,
As we embark on another week of learning and growth, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible role you play in your child’s education. Your unwavering support, encouragement, and involvement are the cornerstones of their success.
Every day, I witness the remarkable progress our students make, and I know that this would not be possible without the strong foundation you provide at home. Your dedication to their academic and personal development is truly inspiring.
Remember, education is a journey we take together. There will be challenges along the way, but with perseverance and a positive mindset, we can overcome any obstacle. Let’s continue to work hand in hand to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children.
Thank you for being such an integral part of our school community. Together, we are shaping the future, one student at a time.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
Go Braves!

Parent Tips of the Week!
Sleep and Academic Performance
A study conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) found that better quality, longer duration, and greater consistency of sleep correlated with better academic grades1. Nearly 25% of the variance in academic performance was attributed to sleep. During sleep, your brain solidifies memories and strengthens synaptic connections related to what you’ve learned during the day. So, prioritize those Zzz’s! Sleep is essential for embedding knowledge in the brain. Even though you’re not actively studying during sleep, your brain continues to work on your behalf. It’s like an overnight study session where memories are solidified and connections are strengthened. So, pulling an all-nighter before an exam is counterproductive; prioritize rest instead2.
Morning Routine Tips for Students
- Wake Up Early: Try to wake up at a consistent time each day. Your body’s internal clock (circadian rhythm) appreciates routine.
- Hydrate: Start your day with a glass of water. Hydration is crucial for overall well-being.
- Move Your Body: Even a short walk or some light stretching can boost alertness.
- Mindful Breakfast: Prioritize a balanced breakfast. Include protein (e.g., eggs, yogurt), whole grains (e.g., oatmeal, whole wheat toast), and fruits.
- Plan Ahead: Review your schedule, set goals for the day, and organize your tasks.
- Avoid Rushing: Give yourself enough time to get ready without feeling rushed.
- Limit Screen Time: Avoid diving straight into social media or emails. Instead, ease into your day.
- Positive Affirmations: Start your day with positive thoughts or affirmations.
- Smile: Even if it feels forced, smiling can improve your mood.
