Oct 29th - All Saints Celebration for RE classes at St. Nick's.

Oct. 31st - Oratory All Saints Day Party at Sacred Heart.

There were no RE classes Oct. 22 (due to Engagement Encounter).

All RE classes are invited to attend the All Saints Celebration!

Come for Treats, Crafts, and Games in the Social Hall.

Dress as your favorite Saint for the Costume Contest.

The HSYG met in the Social Hall for a PUMPKIN PAINTING POTLUCK!

Because it was his feast day, we began by celebrating Pope Saint John Paul II with another delicious potluck provided by the teens. While we ate, we watched 2 short videos (links below photos), then we learned even more facts about him while playing JP2 Bingo! Everyone got lots of bingos and prizes. We finished with a taste of his favorite treat, Kremówka Papieska (Papal Cream Cake)!

Next, we used stencils of Catholic Symbols to decorate pumpkins. Some used paint, some used markers, some used stencils, some chose to free-hand, but ALL used their unique artistic imagination and transformed their little pumpkins into amazing works of art.

Things got silly with JP2 music videos playing during pumpkin decorating (the last link below was their favorite!) and QFT (Quality Friend Time) that included a candy corn war and a pumpkin toss!

The HSYG will prepare for Allhallowtide with the history and origin of the Triduum, and activities for Hallow's Eve, All Saints' Day, and All Souls Day.

No Class this week.

This event is for ALL AGES.

Ideally we would have a HSYG Core Team consisting of at least 4-6 volunteers (preferably more), allowing for 1-2 assistants present for youth group activities one Sunday per month.

We are also still in need of at least 1 more assistant for the EDGE class.

All youth ministry volunteers must have current certification for the course of Serving Vulnerable Populations and a Criminal History Record Check on file with the Diocese.
