A2 Virtual+ November Update
November 1st, 2024
Principal Message
As we embrace the changing seasons, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the theme of transitions. Just as nature shifts and adapts, so do we in our school community. Each transition brings new opportunities for growth and discovery—whether it's students adjusting to new expectations, staff embracing new challenges, or families adjusting to the rhythms of the school year. Let's celebrate these moments as stepping stones on our journey together, inspiring resilience and fostering a spirit of collaboration.
As we look ahead to the upcoming months filled with breaks, I want to remind our online learners to find a healthy balance during the upcoming breaks. It can be tempting to focus solely on catching up or getting ahead in classes, but it’s essential to prioritize well-being as well. While the systems that support online learning will be available during most breaks, please note that staff will be unavailable to assist, as they take a well-deserved break to focus on their well-being and recharge.
Thank you for your continued support, especially in ensuring that all students complete the weekly attendance activities during count month. Over the four weeks of October, we established 5,364 two-way communications between students and teachers. These weekly attendance communications will continue throughout the year and will be recorded in PowerSchool.
Your partner in online learning,
Principal Lauer

We are excited to announce that Ann Arbor Public Schools launched a new website last week for all schools and programs! A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Pickles, our A2 Virtual+ Online Learning Coordinator, for her hard work in transitioning and updating information for the new site. While you’ll find much of the content remains the same, the organization of the pages has changed for improved navigation.
You can still access our new site using the same web address, a2virtual.org, and it is also available in the pull-down menu under Schools from any district webpage. We are committed to continuously updating links and enhancing the overall organization of the site, so we appreciate your patience as we move forward.
If you need assistance finding specific information or come across a broken link, please reach out to Ms. Pickles at hendrickspicklesj@aaps.k12.mi.us
