Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
The new school year is well underway, and we’re just a few weeks away from Homecoming! The Loveland Athletic Boosters will host the Homecoming Parade on Thursday, September 19. You’ll see student-athletes, school staff, community members, and special guests on the parade route that starts on East Loveland Avenue in downtown Loveland and ends at LHS on Rich Road. If you’ve never watched the parade go by, get out that night and get ready to catch some candy! The Homecoming football game is Friday, September 20, against Turpin.
Community Engagement is one of the four goals of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision, and this year, we will continue listening to our community. You can complete our 2024-25 Community Survey at lovelandschools.org/engage. It only takes a few minutes and gives us important feedback about our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision.
We responded to your feedback in last year’s survey and added more school psychologist support and more support for our Loveland Tiger Pathways career readiness program. Our Pathways program has continued to grow, and this year, our students have internships at nearly 40 local organizations.
This newsletter is one of the ways we inform our community about all the great things happening in Loveland City Schools. If you have friends, family, or neighbors who might like to be on our mailing list, forward this email and ask them to follow this link to our website for a quick sign-up form.
If you have questions, you can always reach me at mikebroadwater@lovelandschools.org.

Treasurer’s Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
The Treasurer’s office has been hard at work in the summer months to enhance and standardize the fee-paying process for all of our families across all of our schools in the district. Parents and caregivers have the ability to pay fees via the PaySchools Central App, online, or in person at each building’s front office. We have also been working to develop written standard procedures across the district to allow for smooth and efficient processing of our day-to-day operations.
Mr. Broadwater and I, along with our School Board President and Vice President, have continued our work on the school funding committee that is advocating for additional state funding for Loveland City Schools and other similar districts. Our thoughts and data have been well received, and we continue to work hard to tell Loveland’s story to our lawmakers and education advocates. As we head into the fall season, I look forward to the ability to connect with you through district and community events.
I’m happy to answer any questions about district finances. You can reach me via email at espyjo@lovelandschools.org.
Stay well, and Go Tigers!

Nick Jackson’s "I AM SPEAK LOVE" Presentation
You are invited to hear Nick Jackson in the Loveland Middle School Auditorium on Tuesday, September 10, from 6:30-7:15 pm. Nick Jackson is a Loveland grad who has previously been a teacher, football coach, and minister who now works as a motivational speaker. His “I Am Speak Love” presentation is aimed at parents, guardians, and community members who want to encourage children to help build a culture of compassion, understanding, and support.
Jackson spoke to students at Loveland Intermediate and Loveland Middle Schools, delivering a message about what it means to “Tiger Up!” and live the Loveland Core Values of Care, Respect, and Responsibility. Thank you to Loveland MINT PTSA for providing this opportunity to our students and community!
LHS Senior on National Hope Squad Council
Loveland High School senior Josie Cooper has been selected to serve on the National Hope Squad Council. Hope Squad is a nationwide peer-to-peer mental well-being and suicide prevention program that has been part of Loveland City Schools for many years. As a member of the National Hope Squad Council, Josie will have an opportunity to collaborate with Hope Squad members from across the country, advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and help shape Hope Squad programming. Congratulations to Josie for being a great representative for Loveland City Schools!
Support the Groups That Support Loveland City Schools!
Students in our district are supported by parent-teacher organizations, booster groups, and the Loveland Schools Foundation. Each year, these groups raise tens of thousands of dollars to provide opportunities for our students.
Each of these groups outlined some of their awesome programs during a Board Meeting last month, and you can get a better idea of what they do by following this link to watch their presentations.
If you’re looking for a way to support our students, consider volunteering or donating to one of these organizations:
Loveland Elementary PTA (LEPTA) - serving LECC, LPS, and LES
Loveland Middle/Intermediate PTSA (MINT) - serving LIS and LMS
Loveland Schools Foundation
It's back to school time! And the Loveland Schools Foundation is hard at work raising funds to support the district's staff via staff grants. Last year, the foundation provided over $4,800 in staff grants, and we'd like to continue increasing that number! Interested in supporting staff grants? Click here to donate. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Thank you to Linda Slusher!
During our back-to-school kick-off with staff last month, Loveland City Schools awarded the first-ever “Distinguished Faculty Award” to Linda Slusher. Linda is a Loveland High School graduate from the class of 1960 who returned to Loveland for a career in education. She was a teacher and librarian at Loveland Middle School from 1965-1970 and a Media Center Specialist at Loveland High School from 1970-2002. She also played a vital role in the Loveland School Foundation as a founding member and then Executive Director from 2002-2024. Her lifetime of dedication to our district and our students makes her a perfect person to receive the Distinguished Faculty Award.
Mobile App - Important Reminder
Our Loveland School District mobile app is no longer operational - please delete it from your smartphone. Our website went through a refresh over the summer, and the old mobile app is no longer being supported. You can get all the information you need on your phone by simply visiting lovelandschools.org - the new site looks great on mobile!
