Tara Yost, Elementary PE Teacher at Elmont, was recognized for being named the Kansas Association for Health - Physical Education - Recreation - Dance (KAHPERD) Elementary PE Teacher of the Year. Kathy Kochersperger and Claudia Welch were in attendance to present Tara with her award and Elmont staff surprised Mrs. Yost with a banner made by students!

The Board recognized this year's Horizon Award winners for our district. The Horizon award is given to one elementary teacher and one secondary teacher who just completed their first year in the classroom. Zach Burns from West Indianola and Cassey Worcester from Pleasant Hill are this year's winners. They both stepped into their roles with enthusiasm, dedication, and passion. Congrats to Zach and Cassey and to us for having such awesome teachers! We're looking forward to their continued growth and impact in our Seaman Community.

Mr. Willson delivered remarks honoring Veterans Day, acknowledging the service and sacrifices made by veterans in the community and across the nation. He highlighted school activities and the importance of recognizing the bravery and dedication of those who have served. Superintendent Willson encouraged students and staff to take time to remember our veterans and invited everyone to stand for a moment of silence in remembrance of our veterans and their sacrifices.

Regular board meetings are scheduled on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. Regular meetings may be adjourned to another time and place when necessary. Special meetings may also be scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Regular meetings typically take place at the Seaman Education Center. When meeting locations change, notice is sent out to the public and made available online. Board agendas go live on the Friday afternoon prior to the regular board meeting.

All regular meetings are streamed live and available on the district's YouTube Channel. A recap of the meeting is also made available through the Board Digest.

Both in-person and digital public comment are accepted at regular board meetings. The public comment agenda item may be found in the meeting agenda.
