As we approach testing season, it is once again Game Time! For BMS, testing season is an exciting time because assessments showcase all of the hard work that has taken place this school year. As Team BMS, everyone has worked hard to help us meet our ultimate goal of improving student achievement. Now is the time for students to show what they know. So, let's encourage and motivate them to do their very best.

As part of this team, you can help us by doing the following:

• Have conversations with your student about the importance of testing.
• Ensure s/he gets a good night's sleep.
• Ensure s/he eats a good breakfast.
• Ensure s/he arrives to school on time.
• Remind students--they are prepared, and they will do well.

BMS remains committed to finishing strong, and we thank you for your partnership. We are almost there.

At our Tropical Testing Parade, participants indulged in a burst of creativity! 🌴 They enjoyed refreshing popsicles and snapped fun selfies at our selfie station during lunch. The theme resonated well: don't freeze up during testing—embrace the challenge with a cool and confident mindset! It was a tropical twist on success that everyone enjoyed. #TropicalTestingParade #CoolConfidence

Autism Awareness Week was highlighted on Tuesday with a colorful display of support, spreading awareness, and fostering inclusivity by wearing the color blue or an Autism Awareness shirt. Let's keep the spirit alive beyond this week! #AustinAwarenessWeek #AutismAwareness"

Milestones testing dates for the end of the year have been announced. Please ensure that your child is here and ready to test on the dates below. For more information about Georgia Milestones or any other test administered in GCPS, please refer to the Accountability and Assessment webpage.

• Do you have access to the Parent Portal?
• Do you have a My Payments Plus account?
• Have you applied for Free and/or Reduced Lunch, if applicable?
• Do you know when and where your child can go to get additional instructional support?
• Do you know where you can check out materials/resources to use at home with your student?
• Do you know how to become a volunteer in our school?

If you answered no to any of these questions, please make an Appointment with Pilar Silva, our Parent Instructional Coordinator, in the BMS Parent Center.

Just as important, you want an easy way to stay in touch with the school. The Updated Parent Portal gives parents access to grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. The Parent Portal gives families a direct line to the classroom, with 24/7 real-time information and anytime, anywhere access, with in-portal translation in multiple languages.
