Welcome back! We hope you had a restful and joyful winter break filled with special moments with loved ones. As we begin 2025, we are excited to continue working together to support our students' growth and success.

I invite you to join me for Coffee with the Principal, an opportunity to connect, share ideas, and discuss important topics affecting our school community. This month, we will be focusing on midyear student progress and funding priorities for the upcoming school year. Your input is essential in shaping decisions that impact our students’ education. 📚 Winter Reading Challenge:
I hope your child participated in Mrs. Quiroga's Winter Reading BINGO Challenge! Completed sheets will be celebrated with a special lunch on Tuesday. Please ensure each activity is initialed.Thank you for encouraging your child to participate!

Make good school attendance a habit in the new year!

Out with the old absences and tardies and in with the new daily and on-time school attendance habits.

Continue to ask your child daily: Did you get into the Learning Pit? At Otay, we encourage students to use a growth mindset to face challenges, have a go at something new, try with a willingness to be confused or make mistakes along the way, and to persist in problem solving.

*If your child was absent, his/her shoes are in the office. If the shoes don't fit, you can exchange at any VANS Store.

• For safety reasons, students must wear flat, close-toed shoes
• Every minute of instruction counts. If your child forgets snack, lunch, or water, do not worry. Second Chance and lunch will be provided. They also have access to water fountains. We kindly ask that you refrain from dropping off any items. Let’s work together to help our falcons build responsibility.
• Please note that if your child is not picked up on time at dismissal, you'll need to sign them out from the office.
