The M.L. Day Pride Report
May 30, 2025

Principal's Message
Dear Friends and Families of MLD,
What a week this has been!
We have all enjoyed a rich showcase of our wonderful students in so many ways. Wednesday night marked our first-ever Music Fest at Vinegar Hill. It was a full house, and our students had the exciting opportunity to showcase their talent and love of music on that historic stage. Congratulations to Mr. Michaud on a successful and memorable event!
Many thanks go out to the Mildred L. Day PTO for the countless hours spent securing the venue, organizing food trucks, selling tickets, and staffing backstage to support all the students waiting to perform—the list goes on. We are so grateful for everything you do to support our vibrant school community!
Last night, it was such a joy to see students proudly display their artwork during our 4th Annual Arts Night. Between the scavenger hunt, explaining their creations to their parents, and enjoying time on the playground, the students were beaming with joy! Congratulations to Mrs. McAtamney for all the thoughtful planning that went into developing the theme, teaching the artistic concepts, and creating such a beautiful and engaging presentation.
Today, our 4th grade students took center stage as they taught us about immigration and its role in the history and culture of the United States. As part of this unit, students created the identity of an immigrant who might have come through Ellis Island. They stepped into their characters' shoes and wrote a series of journal entries from their immigrant’s perspective. Many shared their moving and insightful work during this morning’s community meeting. The quality of their writing was truly impressive. Congratulations to Mrs. Francis and Miss Cloutier for guiding such a meaningful and impactful project.
This morning’s meeting also gave us a chance to celebrate our Best Buddies chapter, our new Unified Basketball program, and our record-breaking fundraising efforts for the American Heart Association. We raised well over $7,000—a new record! We are deeply thankful for the generosity of our families and friends.
It looks like we might get a partial reprieve from the rain this weekend; fingers crossed! I hope you all get a chance to enjoy it.
Best,
Principal Keith

🌱 Help Care for the MLDay Community Garden! 🌱
Though everyone is invited to visit, pick from, and enjoy the MLDay Community Garden at any time throughout the summer, we’re looking for a few special volunteers to commit to a week long slot of tending to it, and giving it a little personalized tender loving care.
During your chosen week, we ask that you visit the garden at least once to pick weeds, remove any dead plants, and help keep our space thriving.
If you notice any issues with the sprinklers or spot any major problems, please report them to Denise Dupuis at ddupuis@rsu21.net.
Your time and care help our garden grow—thank you!
Miss Cloutier's 4th Grade class got to go outside for some independent reading in the playgroup and soak up the bit of sun we had.
🌺 THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! 🌸
