Lets Work Together!
Hello Students, Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers, and Staff,
As we begin a new school year, I want to highlight the fundamental principles that shape our school community: kindness, respect, and safety.
Kindness and Respect: Every person in our school community should be treated with dignity and compassion. I urge you to embrace kindness in your interactions—a small act of support, a warm smile, or a considerate gesture. Doing small acts of kindness can have a huge impact and foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all.
Anti-Bullying: Bullying of any form is not tolerated and is completely inappropriate for our schools. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere where all students feel secure, appreciated, and honored. If you come across any instances of bullying or if you personally experience it, we kindly request that you report it promptly. We have strong procedures in place to address these issues, and we greatly value your input in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Safety concerns: We prioritize your safety and well-being above all else. If you have any safety concerns, whether they involve yourself, a friend, or the school environment, I encourage you to voice your thoughts. If there is any concern regarding safety or discomfort, please inform us so that we can address the issue accordingly. At our school, we have multiple avenues available for reporting concerns. These include approachable staff members, supportive counselors, and confidential reporting systems.
Let's work together to create a school environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive for everyone. Let's make a pledge to be there for one another and advocate for what is just.
I appreciate your commitment to creating a welcoming environment for students to thrive and develop.
Best wishes,
Dr. Toth
Our Staff Wants to Get to Know You! (Grades 3-12 student survey)
Hello Students and FYI Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
As we embark on another thrilling school year, our top priority is to create a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters your personal development, passions, and overall happiness. In order to assist us with this, we are introducing a survey called "Getting to Know You."
Soon, you'll receive a survey that aims to gather more information about your interests, goals, and experiences. We appreciate your responses, as they will provide valuable insights into improving our support for your learning and strengthening our school community.
Here is some important information:
Purpose: Our goal is to fully understand your individual needs and preferences so that we can customize our programs and support to suit you best.
I want you to know that your answers will be kept confidential and used only to enhance your school experience.
Getting involved: We value your feedback and appreciate your thoughtful survey completion. It's a chance to express what is most important to you.
We're thrilled to receive your input and are eager to utilize it to improve our school environment. Thank you in advance for your support and contribution to our efforts to make this year's best!
Best regards,
Dr. Toth
Cell Phones in Ohio Schools
Ohio law now requires all schools to adopt a policy governing the use of cell phones by students during school hours by July 1, 2025. The Department of Education and Workforce, under the leadership of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted, encourages all districts and schools to adopt a local policy to eliminate phone use during the school day.
Ohio law requires schools and districts to adopt local policies that:
- Emphasize that student cell phone use be as limited as possible during school hours.
- Reduce cell phone-related distractions in classroom settings.
- May permit students to use cell phones or other technological devices for student learning or to monitor or address a health concern.
Cell Phones, Technology, & Social Media
It’s probably no surprise that screen time and social media usage are going up (by more than an hour PER DAY in the past two years, according to a study by JAMA Pediatrics). But how can that impact children’s mental health?
Gaming, social media and screen time come with benefits and risks. Our resources will help you start conversations with kids on how they use technology, how to best navigate it and how to stay safe online. You will also learn signs that there may be a problem, and how social media can impact children with certain mental health conditions.
