The Stingray Review
Seaside Elementary
Dear Seaside Families,
I hope this email finds all of our Stingray families doing well and hopefully everyone has enjoyed their summer. I would like to take a moment to welcome all of our new families to Seaside Elementary! We look forward to serving you and your student(s). To our returning families, welcome back! We really have missed you!
Please remember that tomorrow August 14, 2024 will be our Seaside Elementary Open House from 4-6 P.M. We ask that you park on the side of our building near where our cafeteria/gym doors are. You can also park in the back teacher parking lot. Our front parking lot is very small and it will already be filled up. It will be best for everyone to park near the cafeteria/gym doors or the back teacher parking lot. Please enter through the cafeteria doors or the gym doors. If you are unsure where to enter we will have helpers pointing you in the right direction. In cafeteria we will have our PTO, bus stop information, a place where you can pay your technology fee, a place where you can put your name on the waiting list for our after school Stingray Club, and returning Stingray Club members can pay Miss Maria Durham our Stingray Club Director. If you happen to need assistance with a clear book bag you can also stop by the cafeteria. We would be glad to help you with that. If you are interested you can go to the gym because we will have several local boy scout groups, along with girl scouts. We will also have Karate World in the gym. PTO will have Sunset Slush visiting and they will be in the parking lot near the cafeteria/gym doors. This is available to you if you choose to purchase.
Please make sure that before you leave open house that your child's teacher is aware of how your child is getting home. In the classroom there will be car rider tags for you to take if your child is a car rider. If they are a bus rider and you know what bus number your child rides please provide that information to the teacher. If you do not know which bus your child will ride then please make sure to visit the cafeteria and talk with the St. James Area Bus Office. They will be glad to help you. Please make sure that you do not leave the building without your child's teacher knowing how your child is getting home. We want to make sure that your child is put on the correct bus or is put in the car rider line to go home.
Lastly, If you have not registered your child please know that we will not be able to register them during open house. If your child is registered you should have received an email from our data quality clerk Ms. Dee Wills. If for some reason you did not receive the email telling you who your child's teacher is please call the front office and we will be glad to assist you. We will also be able to tell you who your child has during our open house.
I look forward to seeing all of our families at this year's 24-25 Open House. If for some reason you are unable to make it, I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school which is on Monday, August 19, 2024. Let's have an amazing 24-25 school year! Go Stingrays!
Sincerely,
Andrew Ball Ed. D

Horry County Schools Clear Backpack Policy
In an effort to further enhance our safety measures, HCS will be requiring clear backpacks for all students (who choose to carry backpacks) for the 2024-2025 school year.
Clear backpacks have become a common practice in schools across the country as they allow for easy identification of any items being brought onto campus. By implementing this protocol, we are taking proactive steps to create a safe and secure learning environment for our students.
Visit https://www.horrycountyschools.net/clearbackpacks for more specifics and FAQs regarding the clear backpack protocols.
Free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-2025 school year
All HCS students will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-2025 school year as part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a non-pricing meal service option for qualifying schools and school districts. CEP allows breakfast and lunch to be offered to all enrolled students at no cost. Schools and school districts that qualify are reimbursed for meals using a formula based on the percentage of students that are categorically eligible for free meals based on their participation in other State assistance programs.
