Spartan Families,
April is here and we are looking forward to the many activities and events that will be happening over the next two months as we close out his school year. Please keep an eye on the calendar so you are up to date with events on campus.
I want to make sure to thank the parents who came out to support our Spartan Fun Run right before Spring Break. The students had a blast! If you were not able to make it, get it on your calendar for next year. We had several parents running with the students along with several track athletes from the high school. A special shout out to our parent volunteers, Ms Perez and Ms Pina, who worked all day alongside administration to make sure the event was successful from start to finish! THANK YOU!!
Yes, it is time to think about STAAR! The STAAR dates are on the calendar below. While only 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are taking the test, it does impact the whole campus in several ways. Please make sure your scholar arrives to school on time (By 7:30) and eats a healthy breakfast. Breakfast is free everyday for all students from 6:50 - 7:30. We will have a closed campus on the actual STAAR testing dates, so thank you for allowing us to focus on the students and the test taking without interruption. Your support makes a difference!
If you missed the Coffee with the Principal earlier this month, you missed a great opportunity. Mr Fechtel from The Austin Center for Grief and Loss gave a focused and effective presentation . We learned a lot about how to identify triggers for grief and what behaviors we might expect from a grieving person. It was very enlightening. It was so good, we will try to have him come again early next year!
The next Coffee with the Principal is on Monday, May 12 at 3:30.
This will be a joint meeting with PTA to set the budget for the upcoming 25-26 school year.
This is important and we encourage you to come, even if you have not paid your PTA dues!
This meeting is for everyone :)
Happy Spring,
Ms Parker
