A Message from the Principal
Dear Pirate Families,
This week will continue Teacher-Parent Conference week, I encourage you take this valuable opportunity to connect with your child's teacher. These conferences are a chance to discuss your child's academic progress, share insights, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
Your involvement is crucial to your child's success, and we look forward to working together to ensure they thrive throughout the year. We are ending our first quarter of the school year. Fall break is amongst us a perfect opportunity to recharge and come back strong ready for Quarter 2.

PBIS/MTSS committee in action
PBIS/MTSS meetings happens once a month. During the PBIS/MTSS committee meetings, the team collaborates to review student data, identify areas of need, and develop strategies to support students academically, behaviorally, and socially. Our focus is on creating a positive school culture by implementing tiered interventions, monitoring the effectiveness of support systems, and ensuring all students including those with disabilities, have access to resources that promote success.
This month our committee discussed ways to engage staff, students, and families in maintaining a consistent and proactive approach to behavior and inclusion. Our wonderful parent volunteers have donated hundreds of books to our students and this year they will do it again! Beginning on September 11th, students will have the opportunity to choose a book of their choice for free to take home. Let's continue to encourage 10-20 minutes of designated reading at home to help improve our students reading skills.
Meet our School Resource Officer
Officer Anthony Hernandez Bio
I am Officer Anthony Hernandez; I’ve been a Police Officer at the Chula Vista Police Department for 2 years and I am currently a part of the School Resource Officer Unit. I am committed to be a reliable point of contact, a resource and to create a sense of overall safety through close contact with students, their families and school faculty.
I was born and raised in Chula Vista. I graduated from Castle Park High School (c\o 2011). Shortly after high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where I learned the importance of fostering a strong sense of duty, discipline and teamwork while also protecting national security and gaining experience that can positively impact communities worldwide. Now that I have returned to my hometown, I am eager to mentor and provide a positive impact to the youth, while keeping students, staff, families and the community safe. I have had additional training in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and active shooter training. I enjoy exercising, eating out, and volunteering on my off time.
Office Hernandez supports the safety at Rogers and will be sharing safety presentations with all classrooms in the weeks to come.
