Chapel
Proverbs 4:13 says, "Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; guard her, for she is your life." Instruction can be replaced with the word correction. It is good to receive correction with an accepting attitude, as we all need to learn and grow.
Next week, we will have Pastor John Miels from St. Paul Lutheran Church speak at our chapel time. All are welcome to attend our chapel time. Chapel begins at 10:30 AM on Tuesdays. Our part-time homeschool students join us during this time.

Bible Class
This week, we will read the rest of the conversation between Job and his three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. You will also read a long section of speech from young Elihu.
It may be helpful to discuss the fact that while Elihu understands much general wisdom and theology, he is in fact wrong to speak for God. Not only is it unwise to put words in God’s mouth, Elihu has guessed God’s thinking incorrectly. While young, we may have important things to say, but we must also listen to our elders and approach discussion humbly.
The most important part of the reading this week is the end of the book where God himself answers Job.
--From our Bible Roadtrip Curriculum
Students are memorizing the following verses for the first week:
K-3 Students - 1 Peter 5:10
4-5 Students - 1 Peter 5:10, Romans 5:3-5
6-8 Students - 1 Peter 5:10, Romans 5:3-5, Job 38:4, Romans 5:9-11
1 Peter 5:10, "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."
Reading this week included the following:
Job 22-23, 28, 32, 36, 38, 42 (K-3)
Job 22-23, 26-28, 32-33, 35, 36, 38, 40-42 (4-5)
Job 22-24, 26, 28-29, 30, 32-33, 34-36, 38, 40-42 (6-8)
Questions to ponder:
How do God’s words in Job chapter 38 help you understand how great he is? How do you think Job and his friends felt?
How did Job respond to God’s rebuke? (Job 42:1-6) How did God deal Job’s friends? (Job 42:7-9)
What did Job do before God restored him? (Job 42:10) How did God allow Job to live out the rest of his life? (Job 42:11-17)
