NJ STATEWIDE STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES (NJ4S) BURLINGTON COUNTY
NJ4S was created as a response to a national mental wellness crisis in youth and young adults. The New Jersey Department of Children and Families has launched a statewide, innovative hub-and-spoke model of services and resources intended to support youth mental wellness and promote prevention initiatives including:
- Bullying Prevention
- Teen Suicide Prevention
- Substance Use Prevention
- Sexual Health and Pregnancy Prevention
- Violence Prevention
- Other areas of need (determined by youth and community)
NJ4S Burlington County will deliver, manage, or coordinate the delivery of tiered services to specific school communities based on identified needs and eligibility. Tiered services will be delivered at times, in locations, and using methods that work best for students and their families as determined by the advisory group and community engagement.
NJ4S Burlington County will be responsible for effectively connecting youth and/or families to behavioral health care or social service supports. NJ4S will facilitate connections for families in ways to avoid wasteful duplication of existing efforts in their community.
NJ4S Burlington County will develop and maintain strong connections to all of the other child and family serving systems within the county, and provide prevention, mental health supports, and other community programming. Services and supports will be offered to all public/charter schools, students and families at no cost to the school or family.
