Wickliffe Family Update
April 28, 2024 Notes and News
Dear Families,
What an amazing week we've had at Wickliffe! We wrapped it up with a wonderful Town Meeting where Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Persichetti's class shared, followed by the impressive performances of the Jam Club. Huge applause to all our students who bravely took the stage to showcase their talents. Your courage truly shines during our Town Meetings.
Our 5th graders have been hard at work on their special art project, and we're eagerly anticipating its reveal at the end of the school year. As we enter our final week of state testing, our 3rd graders will tackle the math test on Monday and Tuesday, while our 5th graders will complete the science test on Wednesday and Thursday.
Stay connected with the daily happenings at Wickliffe by following our Instagram page @Wickwolves.
Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead!

Love Out Loud Week
In May, our school community will be participating in Love Out Loud week, an opportunity to put our love and care for others into action.
We will be supporting the Indian Lake community, impacted by a tornado in March, by collecting new or gently used books. These items will be donated to families in need as well as the local library which was destroyed during this disaster.
We are asking every Wickliffe student to bring one (or more) new or gently used children's book. All genres are welcome: picture, poetry, nonfiction, and chapter books. We will collect the books from Monday, April 29th, through May 10th.
Castle Farewell
Please join us for a farewell celebration to enjoy some final moments before we say goodbye to the Wickliffe Castle Playground on Monday, May 20th, 2023 at 8:30AM, with a reception immediately following. This celebration will be open to all community members and will be held outside near the castle playground (Invitation below). Please bring your own seating. RSVP here.
Would your child like to share artwork, poetry, collages, or stories at the Wickliffe Castle Playground farewell ceremony about what the castle playground means to them?
A reflections page will be sent home with every child this week and is also attached to this email. A few students will be asked to share their reflections page at the Wickliffe Castle Farewell.
Please submit this page to either the Wickliffe front office or Nikki Thomas at NikkiT63@gmail.com by May 3rd, 2024.
Please contact Nikki Thomas if you have any questions: NikkiT63@gmail.com
Please stay up to date with the Wickliffe Wolves Instagram page to share your favorite stories, a few of which will be selected to be shared at the farewell. This story submission will be open to all community members, and can include stories about what the playground means to you, time spent playing on the playground, or building the playground.
For more playground updates, go to https://wickliffeplayground.com/ and follow Wickliffe Woods on Facebook or Instagram.

WICKAPALOOZA FAMILY MUSIC FESTIVAL

DEI Community Read
You Belong Book Read
We're excited to share a new (optional) district-wide You Belong Family Book Read, a collaboration among PTOs and Upper Arlington City Schools to build community through shared experiences. During the month of April families are invited to read Just Roll With It, a middle-grade graphic novel that focuses on themes surrounding mental wellness and belonging. On May 11 community members are invited to a celebration at Thompson Park from 12:00pm - 2:00pm featuring a discussion with the illustrator and author of Just Roll With It, Veronica Agarwal and Lee Durfey-Lavoie.
In addition to getting a behind-the-scenes look at creating graphic novels on May 11 and discussing themes from the book, we'll also be collecting gently used books with Seeds of Caring. Bring any youth or adult book along with you May 11 and decorate a bookmark to add a little more love to your donation.
To purchase your copy of Just Roll With It or to purchase books to donate to a school, please visit Cover to Cover. For more information on the You Belong UA Family Book Read, please visit https://youbelongua.org. We'll be updating information on the website as more details are finalized.
Yolks for Playground Folks!
Through one of our parent volunteers, we have secured a weekly delivery of farm-fresh eggs! The eggs have been ethically sourced from chickens incredibly well taken care of by an Amish farmer in Fredrickton, OH. The ladies are fed a vegetarian/non-GMO diet, are outside during daylight hours and are never given medication, antibiotics or hormones. The eggs are super fresh - farm to your house! Please see the attached sign-up for details, payment and pick-up instructions. Sign-Up Here
