We appreciate all that you do to make our preschool a wonderful place to learn and grow!
Looking Ahead: Enrollment for the 2025-2026 School Year- It may seem early, but we are already planning for the future! Soon we will begin recruiting for the 2025-2026 school year. Application season will officially start after spring break. Keep an eye out for more details, and feel free to share this information with families who might be interested in joining our program.
Mark your calendars! The first round of our spring conferences will take place during the first week of February. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to discuss the growth your child has made so far this year. We’ll also share ways your family can support your child’s learning and help prepare them for the exciting transition to kindergarten. We look forward to connecting with you during this special time.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Here’s to a fantastic start to 2025!

Preschool Education
Language: The language domains of listening and speaking come before reading and writing. Therefore, developing a solid foundation in oral language is essential for learning to read and write. Children should be able to comprehend language, follow directions, use language to express thoughts and needs, engages in conversations, takes turns when talking.
Listening Comprehends language
-Self talk is like a cooking show host. The narrator is telling what is happening.
Mrs. Amy is talking about what she is doing. “I am eating my food. This corn is delicious.”
Listening Comprehends language
-Parallel Talk is like a sports announcer. The announcer is telling about what the others are doing.
Mrs. Sam is commenting on how her children are greeting each other and noticing all the different hats.
Listening Comprehends language
Speaking and Listening Comprehends language
- Recast is providing a correct model.
If the child says “We goed outside yesterday.” The adult provides the correct model “We went outside yesterday.”
Coach Amy is having that conversation with some of Miss Nuss’s children.
Speaking and Listening Comprehends language
-Expansion is adding more to the child’s words.
Child points to a dog and says “dog.” The adult responds, “That is a small white dog on a leash.”
Miss Rodela’s students are talking about this toy dog.

We are excited to inform you that Mrs. Deanna Sherrill is our new librarian for the rest of the school year. With a cheerful face, she said she has enjoyed being in the library. She also mentioned that for the month of January the children will be learning about Winter and Repetition and remembering previous lessons. Mrs. Sherrill has enjoyed reading a new story each day and has been involving the students to participate in the lessons with hands-on activities and getting up and moving. A NOTE FROM MISS MELYSSA
Greetings!
Thank you for sharing your children with us and being a part of our Bright Beginnings School Family! Your School and Class families are growing and learning!
We have been focused on Being Helpful. When we ask ourselves if we are being helpful we change our mindset to see the best in ourselves and in others. Your children been paying attention to kindness and what they can do to help. Encouraging each other to do our best gives us a sense of unity.
During Friend's Time this month we will continue to practice our assertive skills as well as learning how our choices impact our learning. The Power of Free Will reminds us that "The only person you can make change is yourself". Happy New Year!
The month of December was short, but we are ready to get back into our daily routines! Our preschool aged classrooms learned about Things that Go Together and Community Helpers. Our infant and toddler classrooms focused on the themes “Talk With Me!” and “On the Move”.
We have a few openings in our infant classroom at the moment, if you know anyone please send them our way!
