Hello folks, and welcome to the third edition of Dorm happenings from the friendly confines of " The Howser Dorm" here on the beautiful campus of KSB. We are certainly grateful for the beautiful sunsets in the evening, and the much cooler weather here on campus this week. It has been a short but busy week for all the dorm students and staff as we began school on Tuesday after the long Labor Day weekend.
We had our elementary students on campus this week for our first elementary short course week, and also the beginning of opening our new elementary dorm wing in Howser Dorm. There were 5 elementary students this week, and they were full of energy from the start! SO glad we had our newest staff member Ms. Caty Cano, she is here to be a part of making this week a huge success as we begin a new chapter at the dorm.
Our week began on Monday welcoming the students back to the dorm, and having some free and open gym time and then getting the students ready for lights out to begin the week. Tuesday after a fun and exciting day at school the students were were entertained with bike riding trials and timed events to see who was the fastest on the cycling events. One of our newest students Jose Echeverria won this timed event with a lap of 39.57 seconds and Caleb Robinson was second with a time of 42.10 seconds. It was a fun and exciting time as we had many participants on bikes for the first time in a long time. On Wednesday afternoon we had scout meeting with Mr. Ottis Florence as he introduced more concepts about scouting, and then we played a very fun kickball game with Loyaltys team coming out on top of Evie's team by a score of 3-1. On Thursday night the Howser Dorm kiddos and staff went out to the Comfy Cow for a night of ice cream and milkshakes and a few songs that were sung along in the drive to and from the dorm to the Comfy Cow. It was a night to remember for some and a night some soon just forget with the singing. We were scheduled to introduce another dorm staff member for this edition, but all information was not submitted or approved before press time which did not allow for entry into this edition. We hope to be able to introduce another member in next week's edition. We hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend and we look forward to seeing you and sharing our stories next week.
Until Next Time.
