January 26, 2025
Good Afternoon VME Families!
We hope you are staying warm this weekend with these very chilly Florida temperatures! It looks like the chilly temperatures will continue in the mornings for most of this week. Please dress appropriately as we do plan for outdoor recess and PE. Also, if you misplaced a jacket, sweatshirt, water bottle...please check the lost and found in the cafeteria by the stage.
See you tomorrow,
Ms. Vieira & Mrs. Roberts

"We're Building Readers at VME!" Read-A-Thon
Families,
WE’RE BUILDING READERS at VME! Our READ-A-THON (January 27-February 9) will be starting in less than one week! Please be sure to set up your student’s account as soon as possible…click on the image above or use the QR code on the flyer that was sent home. It’s so easy!
- As a school we will be tracking reading minutes during the Read-A-Thon event! For your student to participate, you MUST set up your student’s account at home.
- If you need help setting up your student’s account, please reach out.
- We want all students to take part in the Read-A-Thon!
- You do not need to fundraise to participate, but only a family member is able to set up your student’s account! The classroom teacher is unable to do so.
- Participation prizes are earned three ways:
- First, by reading minutes.
- Second, by sharing your student’s READ-A-THON account with family and friends.
- Third, by receiving donations.
- Students who read the most minutes (for their grade level) will receive a $25 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.
- Finally, the classes that read the most minutes will be celebrated too. Each grade level winner will be having a pizza party!
- In addition to the many prizes mentioned above, students who raise funds on their Read-A-Thon page will be eligible to shop from the READ-A-THON prize store once the event is finished.
Click the link below to learn more! The presentation includes all the amazing prizes listed above as well as the QR code needed to help set up your student’s account!
When the READ-A-THON starts (January 27nd), be sure to help your student record all reading minutes! Remember, ALL reading counts!!
With your help, we can make this our most successful READ-A-THON yet! ALL funds raised go toward new book purchases and literacy initiatives (SSYRA and SSYRA Junior as well as many others) right here at VME.
Happy reading!!
If you have ANY questions, please reach out. Thank you!
