Principals Update
IMPORTANT: Families need to Update Emergency Contacts in Parent Portal
Please ensure your family reviews and updates their emergency contact information through the Parent Portal. Each student should have at least two emergency contacts. These individuals do not need to be family members; they can be any trusted adult known by the family. We also ask that families identify those authorized to pick up their students (including older siblings) from school if a parent or guardian cannot.
To do this follow these steps:
1. Open Infinite Campus Parent Portal,
2. Click the dropdown Menu (3 lines on top left),
3. Choose More
4. Choose Annual Update
5. Follow Annual Update Prompts
If your Annual Update says complete but you would like to add more emergency contacts or authorized people for pickup, please click "start another" and add them. If you have questions or need guidance, please call the school and we can help walk you through it. We appreciate your help in making sure our records are up to date in case of an emergency. Thank you!

Below you will find several quotes to share with your students and some books that help teach children about grit and how to use it in their lives. Remember a mistake isn't a mistake if we learn something from it.
What is GRIT?
Grit is a personality trait that describes someone who is determined and persevering, especially when working towards long-term goals. People with grit are able to maintain their interest and effort over time, even when faced with challenges or setbacks, they don't give up.
Quotes to share with kids about GRIT
“Be like a postage stamp. Stick to one thing until you get there.” -Josh Billings
“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” -Walter Elliot
“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” -Albert Einstein
“I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday.” -Misty Copeland
“Winners never quit, and quitters never win. I am a slow walker, but I never walk back.” -A. Lincoln
Here are some great books about grit and making mistakes: You can get these at the library or we have denoted some available at the school in Ms. Lacey's office.
These books are available in Lacey's Office

New Library Branch Coming to Northwest Columbus
From Pastures To Pages, The Case Road Library Branch Is On The Way
Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) is adding a brand-new library to its lineup, bringing its total number of branches to 24. The new Case Road Branch will serve the city’s northwest side, marking a significant expansion into a previously underserved area.
The branch will be located on West Case Road, across from The Ohio State University’s airport, on a parcel of land informally known as the “sheep farm.” The land, purchased by the City of Columbus from OSU in 2019, will also be home to a planned city park. This collaboration with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department promises to bring both literary and outdoor experiences to the community.
