Holiday Shop Volunteers Needed
The PTO is looking for parent volunteers to help run the holiday shop. We can't host this event without your help. This is a great way to teach our kids the gift of giving! If you can volunteer your time, please review the available slots and click on the button to sign up. Click here to volunteer. Due to safety concerns, we cannot accomodate younger children while volunteering. Thank you!
Be On Time, Every Time!
Arriving to school on time is key to setting your child up for success. It helps them start their day with confidence, engage in learning, and build good habits. When students arrive late, they miss out on important lessons and disrupt the classroom. Please ensure your child arrives on time every day, ready to learn and grow! Let's make every day count!

January PTO Meeting Update
In an effort to encourage a stronger parent presence at our PTO meetings, we are changing the time and location of our January meeting. The January 7th meeting will be held at The American Legion, 1101 W. Algonquin Rd. at 6:00 PM. Children are welcome! Please make plans to attend this meeting and find out all the PTO does for our school. Without the PTO's help, many of our events and fundraising opportunities would go away, such as: Back to School Pool Party, Book fairs, Trunk or Treat, Skate Night, 5th Grade Picnic, assemblies, etc. In addition we would lose funding for the library, field trips, and other grade-level needs. Please consider joining the PTO!
The Holiday Shop is Almost Here!
On December 12th & 13th, the Eastview PTO will be hosting a Holiday Shop at the school. The Holiday Shop will give your child the opportunity to purchase gifts for their family members this holiday season. All items for purchase will range from 25¢ to $15. Students love having the opportunity to shop for their family members while also getting a hands-on lesson on budgeting. This is not a fundraising event. It is strictly a fun event that we hope will help promote the gift of giving. Flyers went home with Students this week. Click here for a quick video to see what it's like. You may send cash or create an online account. Please see the flyer for information on how to set up the online account. You may not use your student's PushCoin accout for the Holiday Shop.
Winter Weather Communication
When a school closure, weather-related late start, early dismissal, or an e-Learning Day is authorized, District 300 will notify parents, guardians, and high school students through the following channels:
Phone Call: A call will be sent to the phone number(s) on file in PowerSchool.
Text Message: A text message will be sent to the phone number(s) on file in PowerSchool.
Email: An email will be sent to the email address(es) on in PowerSchool.
Website: Information will be posted on the District 300 website homepage, www.d300.org.
Social Media: Information will be posted to the District 300 Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CUSD300.
It is essential for families to have current phone numbers and email addresses on file.
District 300 sends phone calls, text messages, and emails to the contact information provided during online registration. Outdated phone numbers and email addresses may result in missed communications. This also applies to those who have recently switched phone service providers but kept the same phone number. (For example, someone who has switched service from Verizon to T-Mobile but still has the same number.)
As such, it is strongly recommended that families who recently changed their phone number or email address – or those who have changed their phone service provider but kept the same number – check their RCS contact information on file in PowerSchool Parent Portal.
To check the information, log into the PowerSchool parent portal at https://ps.d300.org/public. Then, click on “Demographic Info” in the left menu and review the details in the “RCS Information” area that appears at right.
Should you have contact details in PowerSchool that need to be updated, please know that you will be unable to make the changes yourself. Instead, you must call or email the registrar at your child’s school to provide the new information. Registrars will then make any updates in PowerSchool. To view the District 300 Registrar Directory, please click here.
Recess and Winter Clothing Reminder
Students are expected to be dressed appropriately to go outside every day. This includes hats,
gloves, boots, snow pants, and winter coats when appropriate. If your child is not wearing boots and snow pants, he/she must remain on the shoveled blacktop area. All students are responsible for putting on and fastening their own hats, coats, boots/shoes, snow pants, etc. Please keep this in mind when purchasing winter clothing and have your child practice at home.
Students will stay indoors if the temperature, actual or wind chill, measured at school, is less than
10 degrees or it is raining. Students may remain inside with a doctor’s excuse for either long or
short-term medical conditions.
All children are required to go outside for recess unless they have a written excuse. Students who
are to be excused from physical education class or who are to stay indoors for recess due to
health/medical reasons must have a note from their parent/guardian stating the reason and date.
Students who need to be excused from PE or recess for more than three consecutive days must have a doctor’s note.
