ES Music Assembly ~ Thank you: Thank you the boys for their wonderful performances and being a good audience. Thank you to all parents who dropped by. A special thank you to all the teachers who gave up class time for rehearsals and Mr. Kennedy for pulling it all together! Please check out the video and the photos of the ES Music Assembly.
Thank you PVA and Selwyn Parents!: The Selwyn House Elementary School staff wish to thank the PVA and all parents who so kindly provided delicious treats for the teachers' coffee lounge held earlier this week. Thank you also to the parents who beautified our school with holiday decorations! These acts of giving are truly appreciated.
Snowball makers: Please note that snowball makers are not permitted at the school. If your son has one at school he will be asked to bring it home. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Calling all scholars ~ Grades 5 & 6: The Montreal Round of the World Scholars Cup is taking place here at Selwyn House January 26-27. Selwyn House students have historically had successful showings at this fun, multi-faceted academic competition and we are looking to fill this year’s team. An info session will be held for students in Grades 5 & 6. For more information or if your son would like to sign up, please contact Laura Schaffer (schafferl@selwyn.ca).
Library News: This week is the last week students may borrow books from the library before the holiday break. Please return all books from the library next week (unless they are still being read) and remind your sons to return those in their cubbies and desks.
ASP (Afterschool Program) News: Please note that all extracurricular clubs have now concluded. Homework club and Kindergarten club will continue until December 19th. Stay tuned for our winter semester offerings in the new year! If your son needs to attend ASP on a drop in basis, please email aspadmin@selwyn.ca.
Contactivity Holiday Music Video: Thank you and congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Contactivity Holiday Music Video “California Dreamin.” Students, and Contactivity Members all took part in this video, and we could have not have done it without them! We would like to thank and congratulate Ryan Kennedy and Olivier Seguin- Leduc, who has been an integral part of making these videos happen. Click here to watch the music video and happy holidays!
Save the Date! A Gryphon Sale (of gently used uniform and apparel) will be hosted by the Parent Volunteer Association (PVA) the morning of Wednesday, January 15 in the Rossy Agora at Selwyn House. Gently used uniform donations are always welcome, and can be dropped off during school hours in the bins located just inside the front doors of the Lucas building (at reception).
Reminders
'
Lost and Found!: The lost and found items from all around the school are now displayed in the hallway near the front entrance of the Lucas Building ready to be picked up. Photos of some of the items can be found HERE. Be sure to check if anything belongs to your family so you or your son can pick them up as soon as possible. Any items remaining on December 20 will be donated.
Holiday Cheer at Selwyn House!: The whole school is invited to participate in the special dress days to celebrate the festive season (see attached poster). Students are expected to wear full SHS uniform if they aren’t participating in these holiday themed days.
Wednesday, December 18 ~ Pajama Day
Thursday, December 19 ~ Holiday Accessories Day (worn with regular uniform or replacing items of regular uniform)
Dress for the weather: We will send the boys out for recess even through the snowy days of winter. Make sure your son has appropriate outerwear, including snow pants, boots, hats, mitts and neck-warmers. Boys must have a pair of indoor-only school shoes to change into for class.
