Utah's Online School Library Update - A Closer Look at the Gale Reference Collection

Utah Online School Library updates are back for the school year! In this episode, Dani Sloan is joined by Davina Sauthoff, Library/Media Specialist at the Utah State Board of Education. Davina is teaching us how to find resources for all grade levels using the Gale Reference Collection available in Utah’s Online School Library.

A Closer Look at the Gale Reference Collection
In this episode of UEN Homeroom, hosts Matt and Dani are joined by Principal Robert McDaniel and Assistant Principal Aaron Bodell from Cyrpus High School. They share insight into how they’ve approached creating a positive school environment at Cyprus High School and how it’s helped their students and teachers succeed.

The focus of this course will be understanding the different blended learning models and frameworks. These will be explained and modeled in class in order to guide participants in understanding and developing their own blended learning materials. This course is designed to consist of two in-person virtual sessions and then four weeks of online work. This will allow the participant time to work on concepts, principles, and course materials and apply them in their classroom. There will also be online work between classes that will consist of videos, readings, discussions, and using the blended learning models and frameworks in practice. This course is designed to consist of two in-person virtual sessions and four weeks of online work.

Call for UTTLN Participants

Calling all EdTech Coaches, Instructional Coaches, and School Tech Specialists in Utah!
UEN is hosting its second cohort of Utah Tech Leaders Network (UTTLN)! This year-long program is designed to help you grow your skills and knowledge in EdTech leadership. You'll learn about personalized and competency-based learning (PCBL), best practices in coaching and supporting educators, and how to build a community of digital leaders in your school or district.


We'll have in-person and virtual meetings and you'll have access to online resources and support. Whether you're a seasoned coach, an experienced edtech, or you're just getting started, this program might be a great fit for you!

Educators are increasingly expected to exhibit skills and knowledge of using technology to enhance student learning. The UEN Educational Technology Endorsement Program is grounded in the USBE EdTech Competencies and the Utah Effective Teaching Standards. The Competency-Based Educational Technology Endorsement is divided into four courses. Participants will come away with a portfolio of work that aligns with each competency.

Your eyes do not deceive you. UCET and UELMA are combining forces for their 2024 conference. This year join both conferences in downtown Salt Lake City at the Salt Palace for two days of amazing learning. Keynotes, registration, and call for proposals will be share in the coming weeks.
