Home of the Explorers: Explore Today. Lead Tomorrow.
November 1, 2024
With So Much Thanks
Thank you to all of our Explorers, parents, and extended family for supporting our annual Harrison Elementary Halloween Parade.
While we recognize the tremendous efforts it takes to arrive, park, and exit our campus, we appreciate the patience and kindness given to everyone involved. Additionally, thanks to all that were respectful and supported all of our students during the parade, staying for the whole parade as well as not cutting through the parading kiddos. We value the example that we are all setting.
Screen Free Day
On November 27, 2024, the entire district will be participating in a Screen Free Day.
Screen-Free Week is an annual event where children, families, schools and communities
are encouraged to turn off screens and "turn on life".
Instead of relying on television programming for entertainment, computers, and Smartboards, participants read, daydream, explore, enjoy nature, and spend time with family and friends. This is
typically held in May for an entire week.
At Harrison Elementary, we have picked a day, November 27th to be Screen-Free all day
long.
Early Dismissal Day in November
The Bus & Parent Pick Up:
For transportation purposes, your little ones will arrive home or child care approximately 2 HOURS EARLIER than their normal drop off time in the afternoon.
Parent Pick up time is approximately 2 HOURS EARLIER than the normal pick up time in the afternoon.
For example, if your child gets off the bus at 3:44pm on a normal school day.....they will be arriving at 1:44pm on these early dismissal days.
Lunch Time:
Lunch is NOT served on Early Dismissal days. Teachers often will recommend that their students pack a bit more snack on these days, however, many thankful celebrations will also be occurring on this day.
