Gifted and Talented Applications Open
PS 88Q is proud to have a gifted and talented program for grades 3, 4 and 5. Enrollment sent emails last week to eligible students (on the guardians email). All applications are through MySchools. https://www.myschools.nyc/en/
One of the most important aspects of our vision at PS 88Q is equity. All students received all benefits from our programs. For example, our G and T programs follow the same curriculum as all other grades, with an additional component of Project Based Learning. This past year, the students in both grade 3 and 4 worked on a wonderful project, Tiny Houses. They worked through the design phase, the engineering phase, and the most important part the critical thinking and sustainability. How we feel at PS 88Q is that all students should have the opportunity to engage in such work, and our other classes do as well. This applies to our ideology on our NEST classes, with components that are helpful to all children visible in all of our rooms. We also have STEM ICT classes on each grade, but all of our classes engage in STEM.
