Principal's Message
Greetings Santa Cruz Gardens Families!
Thank you to all of our room parents that came out to collaborate with their classroom teachers on a warm Friday last week! We are SO very thankful for our Home and School Club, and our one of a kind community that helps the SCG boat really have the best wind at it's sails! Without these efforts. If you have not yet had the chance, please make sure to reach out to your teacher or inquire with other parents at drop off and pick up about how you can pitch in a bit to make our school the best it can be!
If you have not yet signed up for conferences, now is the time! Our conference week will be minimum days for 10/07-10/11- each day will be school in the morning, the kids will go home at lunch, and parent conferences in the afternoon.
Lastly, we continue to be active in growing our capacity, practices, and projects for our flagship SAGE (Science and Gardening Emphasis) program. This past Friday, we had an in-house PD led by staff focusing on the outdoor zones of SCG and outdoor learning practices beyond the 4 walls of our classrooms. We love to truly make use of our beautiful, spacious, and natural campus everyday!
Enjoy the fun pix of Art, Music, Outdoor Learning, and Crazy Hair day! See you around our Village of Learning on the Hill!
Please see the essential snapshots and a message from Counselor Sue Robinson below. Please remember to keep an eye on the dates at the top of our Dolphin Dispatches : )
In Partnership,
Principal Carlo Albano
From your SCG Counselor…
Greetings, SCG Families!
During October, which is also National Bully Prevention Month, we are focused on EMPATHY: understanding and connecting with other people's feelings.
Our younger students are working on identifying how others feel and the appropriate responses, while our older students are learning empathy's role in conflict resolution and leadership. Empathy is a practice that can help us grow strong relationships, which is also the foundation for bullying prevention!
This month, in addition to exploring empathy, we will spend time better understanding bullying and what students can do when faced with this challenge. To keep the conversation going, please see the attached family newsletter, which is all about EMPATHY.
Thank you ~ Sue Robinson, SCG School Counselor

Drop Off and Pick Up
Please be mindful of our bikers and walkers! We do not want to have any scares or danger- our school is a place to be extra patient, super mindful, and cell-phone free please! The parking lot has been good, but there have been some concerns on driving into the lot and the intersection. Please be careful.
If your child is biking, scooting, or skating, please have a talk with them to make sure they are stopping at the stop sign, following bike rules, and are being careful.
So many of you have already filled out your paperwork and taken care of fingerprints to volunteer and help out on campus and field trips. We are so grateful! Stop by the office, and we'll make it as easy as possible for you : ) Here are the guidelines https://drive.google.com/file/d/13YZbdsB65qcXL5jcv1q5X2iMSwgQQypD/view; Spanish: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rtrhFf2hOTdR0jZOX_rb7RPYLer6AF52/view.
