FAST Testing
FAST testing begins Monday morning. These state assessments have significant impact for students, our school, and our district. For example, if a student scores too low on the ELA portion of the assessment, they will be scheduled into an Intensive Reading class. While these can prove to be very helpful, it also takes away one elective class for students. The scores on our statewide assessments also determine our school letter grade, which also impacts the letter grade for SJCSD.
Please have your student to school on time each of the days they are testing to minimize any disruptions. Not every student is going to score a 5, or even a 3, we simply ask that every student does his or her best!
Sixth graders test this Monday and Tuesday morning, while 7th graders will test this coming Thursday and Friday. Eighth graders test Monday and Tuesday the following week, May 13 and 14.
For accessing results, our testing coordinator, Nicole Bohanan, has provided this helpful note: FAST Gr. 3-10 PM3 (Cambium), All EOCs, and Science gr. 5 & 8:
Parents/Guardians will have access to student scores for FAST grades 3-10, all EOCs, and the science assessments for grades 5 & 8 in the Family Portal. The log-on process will be the same as it has been all year for FAST Cambium testing (as outlined on our Parent Information Page).
Student scores will start populating after a one-week validation window, so completed tests should begin to have reported scores beginning May 8th and scores will continue to be available during the testing window as tests are completed.
Attached below is a letter with more information.

Food Security - New Location
We want to make you guys aware our church starting Thursday, May 9th, will start a new food distribution in Hastings at the Library, 6195 S Main St, Hastings, FL 32145. We will be handing out food from 4:00 pm till 5:30 pm. Simmons House will take over the one on Randolph in Flagler Eastates so we can reach out to more in the community! That community has such great need and we were made aware many folks couldn’t make it out there so we are moving in town to reach more! We would really appreciate if you guys could let your folks know about the new distribution especially with summer quickly approaching and the kids being home and the financial burden of needing more food.
Thank you!
