Pella High School Newsletter
June 2024
What a fantastic school year! I'll never cease to be amazed by our students and staff. All year, I watched both learn and grow while juggling a thousand things...in addition to being teenagers, parents, coaches, sponsors, etc. which can be difficult enough in itself. I wish everyone a restful and fun summer. As always, thank you, parents, for your support of our schools; we are grateful for your partnership in this high school journey. 2024-2025 is going to be a great ride!
Sincerely,
Josh Manning, Principal
Derek Schulte, Assistant Principal
Matt Fouch, Activities Director

Summer Office Hours
The main office at the high school will be open from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Thursday. The office will be closed on Fridays.
Summer Meal Information
Kids and teens across our community can get free meals this summer at participating locations. To find a site near you text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304.
Minor School License Forms
If you need your student's minor school license form signed over the summer, please think ahead and keep the following in mind:
-Our summer office hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:45 am - 3:45 pm
-The license forms require a live signature by either the principal or vice principal. If neither are available when you bring in your form, we will keep your form and call you when it is ready to be picked up. We cannot guarantee same-day signatures.
Parking Passes
All outstanding school fees and/or parking fines (NOT including outstanding lunch balances) must be paid in full in order for your student to be eligible to receive a valid parking pass for the 2024-2025 school year. If you purchase a pass on Infinite Campus but still have outstanding fees, the pass will not be issued to your student until fees and/or fines are paid.
Physicals
Schedule Requests
Students will have the first five days of the school year to add or drop a class. Beginning with the first day of school, students can stop by the counseling office to pick up a drop form. All drops will require a teacher's signature from the class being dropped. Requests for schedule changes were to be made by the last day of school; ones made over the summer will not be processed.
Students will be able to see their schedules on Infinite Campus in July. Everyone should check their schedules before returning to school, because some students' schedules will have to change slightly to balance class sizes.
Anatomy in My Hands Project
Mrs. Lyons recently received an opportunity for matching funds from General Motors, 3M, and the Pella Rolscreen Foundation to purchase additional models for her Anatomy class, which will be offered for college credit next year. We want to thank Stacy DeJong and Dr. Alison Smith for their generosity in helping to fully fund this project! Students will be blessed by being able to physically see and hold models in order to have their learning come to life!
High School FFA Chapter Attends State Convention
15 members of the Pella FFA Chapter recently attended their state conference in April. Congratulations to Regan Decious, Kia Lehman, and Jace Peterson for earning a bronze rating in the State Biotechnology contest! Additionally, Reagan Decious, Anna German, Calleigh VanderWilt, and Caleb VanEssen were awarded their State FFA Degrees.
