February 28, 2025
Happy Friday!
The last week of February was a wonderful week here at WAS. Our NJGEOY, Paula Perreault, and NJESP, Olivia Jaworski, were honored at Monday night's Board of Education Meeting. Students were able to get outside this week, as the weather cooperated for some of the week. Teachers are excited by the growth and learning of the students as we have passed the halfway mark to the 2024-2025 school year. A player from the Harlem Wizards, David Paul, visited our school to promote the fundraiser for the class of 2026 being held on March 20th at CHS ~ see information below.
We are certainly looking forward to the month ahead . . . If you did not know, March just might be my favorite month :) March begins with a Spirit Week and continues with our Girl Scout Week ~ see below for information on both Spirit Week and Girl Scout Week!
Thank you for taking time to read through this week's newsletter.
We say goodbye to February today and welcome March tomorrow :)
Please reach out if you have any questions.

A former WAS Staff Member, Annemarie Infante,
would have celebrated her birthday today, February 28th.
Mrs. Infante was a true SUPERHERO to the students at Walnut Avenue School
and we were gifted with a donation and purchased min-superheroes in her memory.
The Class of 2026 is running this year's Harlem Wizards Game
at CHS on Thursday, March 20th at 6:30pm.
We are proud to host this event and want to encourage everyone to attend.
The tickets are on sale right now and can be purchased here.
On Thursday, the students were able to meet David Paul of the Wizards for an assembly!
