Principals' Update

Greetings MacArthur Families,

It has been wonderful to have our 1st through 5th graders back this week! We are so excited to be back in school and seeing how all of our students have grown since June! This busy week started off with our Teacher Meet and Greet on Monday afternoon and concluded with some smiles on the way home. In between, we saw routines being built and an overwhelming joy being shared to be back at school. We also welcomed our incoming Kindergarten students for their screening appointments as we prepped for next week's start. Thank you for your positive communication about the return to school. As you probably noticed with your children, first week tired, is a different kind of tired. With that in mind, we will recharge and see everyone on Tuesday, as Waltham Public Schools is closed until Tuesday, September 3rd.

MEMBERS WANTED!

Seeking new members for the MacArthur School Council and Equity and Inclusion (E&I) Committees for the 2024/2025 School Year: The MacArthur School Council is a collaborative group of MacArthur educators, family members, and community members who meet monthly for 45 minutes virtually in support of MacArthur School Improvement efforts. For the 2024-2025 school year, we will be looking to expand membership to include representatives from all six grade levels. Our Equity and Inclusion Committee also meets monthly virtually in support of providing students and families with a welcoming, inclusive learning community focused on helping all to feel a deep sense of belonging at MacArthur. PTO Notes - 8/27/24

Welcome Back to our students, staff and families! Thank you to all who participated in creating a nice warm welcome back to our teachers and staff at our chalk the walk event.

Next week, your student will be sent home with a welcome packet from the PTO. Information on how you can sign up for our website (where you can access an online school directory, see a calendar of all school and district events, make a donation, and more. In addition you will find our first Spiritwear sale of the year! The store is live September 1st and will close September 30th.

Join us at our Ice Cream Social on Thursday , September 5 from 5pm-7pm. We are still looking for volunteers to make the Ice Cream Social a success! Please consider signing up for a shift (4:30-5:30, 5:30-6:30, or 6:30-7:30). Volunteers will help with scooping ice cream, serving toppings, setting up, and cleaning up!
