A Message from the Principal
Dear Sheridan Families,
First things first… wow, what an amazing Staff Appreciation Week! The daily line-up of snacks, Starbucks, Portillo’s lunch, and desserts - plus a staff gift and fantastic raffle items- brought sunshine to each day (even the torrential rainy one!). Plus the adorable chalk drawings, flower signs, and sweetest Shark Bite messages… it was just THE BEST! Thank you to all of the families who contributed to the fun, and a special shout out to the APT committee of Perry Minter, Vicky Bozic, Jillian Floriani, Julia Hudson, Kristen Scheuer, and Elyse Butler for coordinating everything. We are truly grateful for your generosity, especially at this very busy time of year!
Exploration Day – what can I say, Exploration Day is simply a very special day at Sheridan. Parents and community members sharing rich learning experiences, and the students so fully engaged, is a sight to behold and celebrate! This day only happens because so many parents answer the call to lead groups and volunteer as helpers. Enthusiastic thanks to all, and a sincere thank you to Veronica DeNicolo, Anna Robinson, and the amazing APT team for all the work it took to make this day happen.
We’re introducing a new event next week: Donuts with Grownups on Thursday, May 16 at 7:15 am.. If you haven’t already done so, please RSVP (ONE guest per student – see link in APT section below) and plan to walk if you can. Parking will be on Spruce east of Sheridan. NO PARKING on our front lawn. Thanks… and keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
Coming up in Music: Our Sheridan Sharks have the (optional!) opportunity next week to share a musical interest or connection that they may have outside of the Music classroom. Bring in an instrument, favorite musical book, or dance and get ready to share a song with your fellow musicians! Feel free to also take a video or picture on your iPad, or send it to Mrs. Balinao (ebalinao@lfschools.net) to share with your class during Music next week!
Enjoy your weekend. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Susan
