Manitou Springs High School
Mustang News - April 7th, 2023
From The Principal
It is hard to believe that we only have five weeks left with seniors and seven weeks left with the rest of our students! I love this time of year and all of the energy, events, and celebrations. We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Student Council who has been recognized as a National Gold Council of Excellence for the tenth year in a row! Their hard work to create powerful opportunities to build culture with our students and staff makes all of us better. We have a busy next couple of weeks including: Wednesday, 4/12: PSAT 9, PSAT 10, and SAT. 12th graders will not have school on 4/12. Please see info below for more details. Friday, 4/14: We have our Mustang Safety Day. As part of the event, Manitou Springs Fire Department and Police Departments will be working with some of our MSHS Theater students to model a car accident and the resulting events during a whole school assembly. This is a really meaningful opportunity for students to learn the potential consequences of driving under the influence. Afterward, we will have a fair during lunch with a variety of community partners presenting on different safety topics ranging from healthy relationships to Search and Rescue. Tuesday, 4/18: ACT WorkKeys for 10th graders and CMAS Science for 11th graders. 9th and 12th graders will not have school on 4/18. Please see info below for more details. If you have any additional questions about testing, please reach out to Jessie Nunley (jnunley@mssd14.org). Lastly, please be aware that for all general inquiries and/or communication regarding absences/excusals, please email hsoffice@mssd14.org from now on as Stacy Thomson has begun her new role as Human Resources Specialist. I hope you all enjoy your weekend! Anna Conrad Manitou Springs High School Interim Principal
