Traffic reminder
Dear Parents, we kindly ask for your cooperation in refraining from parking in red zones around the neighborhood at dismissal times. This ensures the safety of our children and facilitates smoother traffic flow during this busy period. Your help in maintaining clear visibility for pedestrians and drivers is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Project3R Community Clean Up
Community Clean Up!
Come join us for a Community Clean Up at Buddy Todd Park on May 25th, from 9-11AM. This is part of Project3R’s 5-in Five Clean Up Tour, bringing together communities all along our coast to clean up trash, recycle, and collectively make a huge impact on the health of our coastline! Project3R has funded the 5th grade beach clean up and whale watching excursion for the last two years and hopes to continue to grow our relationship in the future. Let’s get out and support a good cause while giving back to our O’side community!

Classroom Celebrations
OUSD is delighted to help support all classroom celebrations within our district. Classroom celebrations must meet the federal guidelines for our Smart Snack-approved program.
We offer a variety of nutritionally dense snack items that can be purchased through our cafeteria. From cookies and crackers to ice cream bars and juice boxes. For pricing on these items please contact Nelly in our cafeteria.
In addition to these items, we also provide free pizza parties for classroom celebrations in place of the student's regular lunch. For more information please contact Nelly in the cafeteria 2 weeks prior to your celebration.
OUSD Chain of Communication
We know there are times when issues come up that need to be resolved. OUSD has created a chain of communication that allows for an efficient resolution process. This is now located on our school’s website under “Our School” called Chain of Communication
Blackboard Communication Platform
OUSD messages families using a platform called Blackboard Communications. This allows teachers and staff to send an email, text or voice message directly to the email address or phone number you have listed in Aeries. You no longer need to download any third party apps to receive messages from OUSD. The only district supported app that families should download is the OUSD app. It’s important that all the adults in your student’s life have updated contact information in Aeries so everyone can receive important messages from your student’s school.
