Counselor's Corner with Mrs. Graveman
12 days to go. I have been reminding myself to slow down and appreciate how much our students have grown this school year. Not only academically but emotionally, and socially. They go out of their way to help one another, cheer up a friend, pick up the classroom and offer to help their teachers. We are so fortunate to have the great students we do!
This week 8th Grade toured Custer High School. They learned more about the classes available in High School and started creating their schedule for next year.
In counseling lessons this week 4th and 5th graders discussed transitioning to next year. 5th grade shared what they are most excited for about Middle School and some worries they have. Many are excited for changing classes but worried about transition times. 4th graders had a similar talk as we dove into the responsibilities and expectations that come with 5th grade. Most were concerned about having to master locker combinations.
Next week 7th and 6th grade will wrap up their South Dakota My Life lessons with a reminder of Time Management, what it is and how to use it to finish the school year strong. 3rd grade will continue to learn how to solve problems with our Second Step unit as we practice picking solutions. Next week will be my last lesson with 2nd grade and half of Kindergarten and we will focus on talking about different careers and what career responsibilities look like.
Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!
