Noon Message to Families

It's that time of year again. We're getting ready for homecoming floats (and mums), and their air is getting a little bit cooler (hopefully).

It's also time for Parent-Teacher Conferences -- one of the most important communications aspects for both educators and families.

We want to emphasize the significance of this opportunity for collaboration. These meetings are not simply a chance to discuss your child's academic progress; they are vital for building and strengthening partnership sbetween home and school.

Why Attend?

1. Stay Informed: Gain insights into your child's strengths, challenges, and overall performance in the classroom.

2. Set Goals Together: Collaborate with teachers to establish academic and behavioral goals that support your child's growth.

3. Support Learning: Learn how you can reinforce skills and concepts at home, creating a cohesive support system for your child.

Your involvement matters whether your child is in Pre-K or just months away from graduation.

When parents and teachers work together, it positively impacts student achievement and well-being. We encourage all families to participate in these conferences, as your involvement is crucial to your child's success.

Screening schedules: State required hearing, vision, spinal and acanthosis nigricans mass screenings will start in September and will continue through November.

We are excited to introduce a new initiative: the Teen Superintendent Student Roundtable (formally known as the Superintendent Student Roundtable). This program is specifically designed for our 8th through 12th-grade students, offering a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with district leadership on matters important to them and our community. Through this initiative, students will engage in meaningful discussions, share their perspectives, and contribute to the development of Cedar Hill ISD. It’s a platform where their voices can be heard, and their ideas can help shape the future of our district. We believe this Roundtable will not only empower our students but also foster a stronger sense of community and leadership among them.

Application Packet:
Completed application
3 reference letters - At least 2 from current or former teachers
A transcript indicating a GPA of 2.0 or higher

Application Timeline:
The application period begins Monday, September 9, 2024. Submit completed applications by Tuesday, October 8, 2024. 2024-25.

Member Notification:

Selected members will be notified by Friday, October 11, 2024
