Greetings Cottonwood Families
Cougar Families,
As we step into November, we have much to look forward to at Cottonwood. It's a time when we reflect on the many reasons to be thankful and celebrate the achievements and growth of our school community. In this newsletter, I would like to share some important updates and highlights for the month ahead.
Academic Excellence:
We are about to have the second administration of our Lexile Reading Assessment. Please talk to your child about their goals and the growth they have achieved this round. Please continue to listen to your children read each night so we can see the possible growth with reading every day. Continue to ask them questions about what they are reading and help them clarify anything they don't understand. Reading opens so much for our scholars and gives them access to much more in life.
Our students continue to excel in their studies, and I applaud their dedication and hard work. Please remember to support your children in their academic endeavors by maintaining open lines of communication with teachers, monitoring their progress, and ensuring they have a quiet, productive study environment at home.
Fall Festival
Remember to come to our rescheduled Fall Festival on November 8th at 5 pm. We have an amazing time each year with our Cottonwood community. Fun, Games, and Treats galore!!
Veteran’s Day Weekend:
Please enjoy the time off with your family during our Veterans' weekend on the 9th - 11th. Remember and thank our veterans for all of their sacrifices for our family.
Thanksgiving Break:
As Thanksgiving approaches, we look forward to some well-deserved time off. Cottonwood School will be closed from 11/25 - 11/29 in observance of the holiday. We hope you enjoy quality time with your loved ones and take a moment to reflect on the things you are thankful for. Remember that if you have a need, our ELOP program will have some fun activities for your children if you want to bring them on Nov. 25, 26, and 27. Please sign them up on the ELOP page.
Community Engagement:
I would like to thank all of our families and PTO for supporting our Fall Festival. We encourage all parents and students to get involved in our school community. Whether it's through volunteering, attending PTO meetings, or participating in school events, your active participation is invaluable.
Thank you for your continued support, trust, and partnership in your child's education. We are proud to have you as part of the Cottonwood School family. Warm wishes for a joyful and thankful November.
Sincerely,
Albert Trudel
Principal
