Harvest Festival

This week we had a wonderful harvest festival in the Cathedral led as always by our Year 4 class. This time the children explored words that can be made from the word HARVEST. They thought about those who HAVE and how we need to SHARE. During the service children from across the school brought forward their donations for Community House and put them on the alter. We finished our Harvest with thoughtful prayers about being thankful for what God has given us. Well done Year 4.

Delivery to Community House Ripon

Thank you so much for everyone's donations for Community House. Following the harvest, a group of Year 4 pupils took the bags filled with food and toiletries to Ripon Community House. The organisation supports people in crisis in Ripon, Boroughbridge and the surrounding villages. Staff at Community House asked us to pass on their sincere thanks to all who contributed.

This week we send goodbye to Mrs Musgrave who has been working in school as a midday supervisor. We have loved having her as part of our MSA team and we wish her all the best.

Year 3 Library Visit

On Thursday year 3 visited Ripon Library. They had a great time exploring the wide range books and loved using the machines to take out their chosen books . Hopefully year 3 will be doing lots of reading over half term!

Courageous Advocacy in Reception

This week, we have been reading the fabulous story, 'Tidy' by Emily Gravett. We have been inspired by its main character, Pete the Badger, who likes everything to be tidy. We decided in Reception that we would like to help keep our school playing field lovely and tidy by picking up any bits of litter we could find. Reception did a super job of this (in the rain!) and then came inside to warm up with a drink and some nice crusty bread that they had baked themselves. As courageous advocates for the environment, Pete the Badger and all the children in Reception have a polite request: Please remember to pick up your rubbish and put it in the bin.

A fabulous day at Flamingo Land

To learn about fairground rides before completing their DT challenge to create their own, Year 6 visited Flamingo Land. Although there was a little bit of rain, it didn't dampen the pupils enthusiasm for trying out every ride in the park. They had a fabulous time and were brilliantly behaved. Well done Year 6.

Autumn Term Worship

Collective Worship is a very important part of our school. Over the next term there are a number of worship sessions that parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Wednesday 22nd November 2023 - Year 3 Class Worship at 9am

Friday 22nd December 2023 - Key Stage 1 Nativity in the Cathedral in the afternoon.
