We have worked today to create a new ceremony in hopes of avoiding a drive-in graduation. We have created to plan to give our students a graduation. We will now have an outdoor graduation at Journey Church. Same time, same location. I first want to thank Mrs. Blackmon (Happy Birthday, Mrs. Blackmon) and Pastor Randy Kelley for having an emergency meeting working to create a new graduation plan including logistics, technology, sound, etc. We had to dismantle everything that had been set up throughout the week and completely re-envision the event. We will be using the side lawn at Journey Church. Please read about all details below, including the COVID-19 requirements.

7:30 am Junior Marshals Arrive

8:00 am Graduates Arrive

8:15 am Graduation Practice

10:00 am Commencement Ceremony Begins

• Due to limited parking, please be dropped off at 8:00 am, if possible. If you are unable to be dropped off, please do not park in the main lot so your guests can park closer to Journey. Please use one of the other lots indicated below if you must drive yourself to graduation.
• Practice will begin at 8:15 am. At this time, you need to be in your cap, gown, stoles, and cords.
• We will run a full practice and end at 9:15 am.
• You must be present at the graduation practice to participate in the commencement ceremony.
• Males: please wear dress pants, dress shirt, tie and dress shoes.
• Females: please wear dress pants, blouse or a dress. Please be mindful of your shoes as you walk across the stage. Be careful in those heels!
• Sneakers or flip flops are NOT allowed.
• Please let Ms. Grosch or Ms. Blackmon know if you need any assistance with your graduation attire. We can help in any way necessary.
• Graduates will be provided masks.
• Graduates will be provided seating.

• This will no longer be a ticketed event, however, COVID-19 requirements state that guests must be limited to individuals who live in the same household as the graduate.
• With this late of notice, we are unable to set up seating for guests.
• You are encouraged to bring your own lawn/folding chairs, blankets, or you can stand.
• The ceremony will be about 40-45 minutes in length.

These requirements have been given to all RCSS high schools regarding outside graduations:

1) Guests will be limited to individuals who live in the same household as the graduate.

2) Cloth face coverings will be required for graduates, staff members, and guests.

3) Staff members and graduates will be required to remain 6 feet apart at all times.

4) Guests will sit 6 feet apart unless they live in the same household.

5) The following individuals are not permitted to attend:

• Individuals who have been diagnosed with or tested positive for COVID-19.
• Individuals who have been exposed to a person who has been diagnosed with or tested positive for COVID-19.
• Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19

6) Individuals who are high risk of for COVID-19 are encouraged not to attend in person.

If a graduation ceremony has to be moved inside due to weather, each school is required to have a "drive-in" ceremony. With this ceremony, no graduate or other individuals in a car are permitted to exit a car.

If you are not participating in the graduation ceremony, you can pick up your diploma at the school (come to the gym) anytime next week.

Parking is available in the following locations:

• The lot in front of Journey. Many parking spots in this lot will be reserved for handicapped and special guests.
• The gravel lot across Fayetteville Street
• Parking behind the John Deere Tractor Store
• Foster Street Church parking lot
