A Message from Assistant Principal Ortega
Hello HHSO Students and Families,
Throughout the school year, HHSO holds benchmark assessments. We have recently completed the first benchmark, and I would like to thank all the students who completed the NWEA Benchmark Assessment. The results of your benchmark allow our school team to support our students better academically. Teachers can provide an individualized approach to student courses, and the data also helps our academic teams determine which standards need more attention.
As we move forward, Iβd also like to share a few time management tips to help you stay organized and on track:
Create a schedule: Set specific times for schoolwork and breaks to help you stay focused and avoid last-minute cramming.
Prioritize tasks: Identify the most important assignments and work on those first.
Avoid distractions: Limit distractions like social media or television during study times.
Set goals: Break larger tasks into smaller, more manageable goals.
Take breaks: Regular breaks can help you stay refreshed and focused.
Weβre here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need assistance, donβt hesitate to let us know.
Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication!

Alumni Accomplishments
Kassidy Byrket is a 2024 Graduate of Hope High School Online and is entering her first year at Cochise College. She is full time in Aviation working on getting her private pilots license with the intent of being an airline pilot. She is also on the rodeo team and says that even though it's very demanding she loves it! When asked about her time at Hope High School Online Kassidy said, "Hope High School was beyond supportive of me the entire time I was in high school and helped me to never question if I could reach my goals. they understood my busy schedule and made accommodations for me where it was necessary." Kassidy's advice for current students is that most things in life are going to be hard, but you get to choose where you spend your time and energy. Sometimes it's okay for it to not be fun and to be uncomfortable, that just means you're growing!

Parent-to-Parent: Why HHSO Works For Us!
My student was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 4. I was in the military at the time of the diagnosis and for 12 years after. They always did very well in school and were placed in advanced/honors classes. Like many kids, they struggled through the pandemic and faced challenges when I retired from the military and transitioned our family to civilian life. They were in an overcrowded school and having a hard time. I enrolled them in HHSO and have been so happy with the support. Their coach, Mrs. Caitlin Savage, and the School Counselor, Mrs. Kristie Richardson, have been incredibly supportive. I highly recommend that all parents stay communicative with the school staff. They are genuinely helpful, and itβs important to reach out at the first sign of struggle.
