Celebrating Ramadan’s End, Eid al-Fitr, and Arab American Heritage Month
Dear San Lorenzo High School Families,
As April unfolds, we have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate important cultural and religious observances that enrich our diverse school community. This month, we acknowledge the conclusion of Ramadan, the joyous celebration of Eid al-Fitr, and the observance of Arab American Heritage Month.
Eid al-Fitr: A Celebration of Faith and Community
Ramadan, the sacred month of fasting, reflection, and prayer observed by Muslims worldwide, comes to an end with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. Eid, often called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is a time for gratitude, community, and generosity. Families come together for prayer, festive meals, and acts of charity. We extend our warmest wishes to all who celebrate this important holiday—Eid Mubarak!
Arab American Heritage Month: Honoring Contributions and Culture
April is also Arab American Heritage Month, an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the cultural, historical, and societal contributions of Arab Americans. From literature and science to art and civil rights, Arab Americans have had a lasting impact on our nation’s history. This month, we encourage our students and staff to explore and celebrate the rich traditions, stories, and achievements of the Arab American community.
At San Lorenzo High School, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every culture, identity, and belief is acknowledged and respected. We encourage everyone to take time this month to learn, share, and appreciate the diverse perspectives that make our community stronger.
Thank you for being part of our vibrant school family. Wishing you all a meaningful and joyful month ahead!
Warm regards,
Brock Ahrens
