Headteachers Message
Dear Families
Firstly, I am pleased to announce that our Governors have approved some extended refurbishments to our school building commencing in the summer holidays. This includes the installation of new changing rooms, upgraded flooring throughout the ground floor, updates to our astro turfs and a redesigned reception layout. Further details regarding these developments will be provided in due course. I hope you will all agree it's very exciting!
I am also delighted to report that our partnership with Brentford FC continues to grow. This term, we have the opportunity for groups of students to visit their training ground, the GTEC stadium, and engage in workshops, centred around discrimination and leadership. More information for those students involved will be distributed soon.
Today, we said goodbye to our Year 13 students, who will start their A-Level exams next week, we extend our very best wishes to them and couldn't be prouder of their achievements. We wish you the best of luck for your upcoming exams.
Finally, I would like to issue a polite reminder regarding the conduct of a very small minority of our students during their journeys to and from school. When wearing our school uniform, it is essential that all students uphold our values and standards. Unfortunately, there have been isolated incidents where a minority of students have failed to adhere to these expectations, reflecting poorly on our school and community. I urge all students to be respectful, courteous, and remain polite when travelling to and from school.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the warm weather.
Kind regards
Mr P Grills

Weekly Highlights
Freya and Max have been enjoying reading Sawbones by Catherine Johnson
"It's very interesting and delves more into something that you wouldn't usually find in books. It puts a lot of detail into things that would have happened back then and what I like about it, it talks about things that actually exist rather than making things up!"
Thomas in Year 7 went on his rugby tour last weekend to North Wales where he helped his team secure a hard-fought victory over their hosts, Denbigh Rugby Club, beating them 7 tries to 1. Thomas demonstrated an amazing array of defensive tackles, twice preventing the Denbigh forwards from scoring tries on the Richmond line.
For his efforts, Thomas was unanimously selected as the Player of The Day, being awarded a rugby shirt and tie from their hosts, Denbigh Rugby Club.
Congratulations to Mariia in Year 10 for singing with her newly created choir for the church of St. Margaret at Westminster Abbey this week.
The performance marked history as they are the first all-female choristers to sing in Westminster Abbey!
Six of Teddington's gifted and talented Year 9 dance students took part in 'Dance Day' workshop with one of Europe's most prestigious dance companies at Orleans School. Bella, Cleo, Nancy, Asya. Teigan and Molly were amazing and shining throughout the day!!
Congratulations to our star students of the week! ⭐
Weekly Head of Year Message
Dear Families
Students have now completed their STEAM Day. They worked as a team to solve a series of logic problems and open a safe in a limited time, carried out some experiments on burning fuel and learned more about climate change problems and potential solutions to these issues. Below are some photos of the students in action.
House Drama students have been working hard in preparation for the performances on Tuesday 21 May. Tickets are now available! Please come and support our students if you can; this is an event organised and run by the students and they're excited to show you what they have produced. I am glad to say that quite a few of our Year 8 students have taken the initiative to be involved!
Reports will be out at the end of this week and parents evening will be on Thursday 16 May for Population A classes and Thursday 23 May for Population B classes. A letter has been sent out earlier this week with details of how to book and access the parents evening meetings. It would be ideal for students to be present at their parents evening so that they can take an active role in their own education by hearing directly from teachers how they are progressing, where they are succeeding and what they could do to be even better in their lessons.
Have a wonderful week.
Kind regards
