Mr. Kirschenbaum, ELA
This week, we will continue reading Inside Out & Back Again. Students should also be reading their independent book and be on at least page 105 by Monday, March 24.
Mx. Gomez, Math
All students must complete the BCR Friday activity as it is to help ensure students are prepared for CAPE level questions.
In Math 6 Next week, we will continue building on our knowledge with equations and integers. Students NEED to submit their homework with scratch paper for ALL homework, Pear and iReady lesson’s calculations.
In Math 7, students will begin working with Mean, Median, and Mode to build their knowledge with statistics over the next two weeks. Students NEED to submit their homework with scratch paper for ALL homework, Pear and iReady lesson’s calculations.
Ms. Wesselhoft, Geography
This week, we will review and discuss the material in the packet students completed with the substitute. We will review systems, take formative assessments, receive feedback, and review for the summative assessment. We will hopefully close out the week investigating the Cold War or creating their own economic systems.
Ms. Sagan, Science
Fantastic work, scientists! This week we completed our 3rd quarter roots summative and jumped into our new unit – Oceans, Atmosphere, and Climate. Students learned about heat transfer through our Land vs Water Lab and learned about how the El Niño climate system affects our world.
Next week we will continue with our discussions of the interconnected systems of Oceans, the atmosphere, and our climate. This is a great time to ask your students why places near the ocean are often more temperate (cooler summers, warmer winters) than places that are further inland!
All of the summatives for the 3rd quarter have been graded. If your student has a WS for their grade (50%) it means they have either not taken it or they have not finished it. Students have already been given extra time in class to complete these assignments. Those who need to finish a summative must make it up on their own time either during Advisory or after school.
